Roger Miller Music Fest

Roger Miller Music Fest Make plans now to attend the Roger Miller Music Fest on October 24, 2015 at the Lost Creek Ranch Arena, 4 miles west of Erick on historic Rt. 66!! Donny G.

ERICK, OK, September 15, 2014 - From the ground up, exciting changes will break attendance records at the reinvented 2014 Roger Miller Festival Saturday, October 25, 2014. Previously held in downtown Erick, Oklahoma, the 12th Annual Roger Miller Festival moves to its new venue under one roof at Brian Austin’s Lost Creek Ranch Arena just west of town on historic Route 66. The event benefits the Rog

er Miller Museum in the center of Miller’s hometown of Erick at the intersection of Route 66 and Sheb Wooley. The Lost Creek Ranch Arena will transform into a concert venue when top regional acts take command of the stage and fill the giant space to the rafters with great music. The lively mix of Country and Red Dirt music artists includes Chad Sullins and the Last Call Coalition (Stillwater, OK), J.W. Lane and County Road X (Wheeler, TX), Atteberry Station (Wellington, TX), Tyler Wilhelm and a Few Dollars More (Elk City, OK), and from Nashville, Dean Miller, Roger Miller’s son, will be performing songs from his latest album including the title track, "Till You Stop Getting Up." The day starts with a new tradition that will heat up some old rivalries and is bound to start new ones with the first-ever, Oklahoma-Versus-Texas “KING OF THE ROAD CLASSIC CAR AND TRUCK SHOW.” Winners in various classes will be awarded a unique 1st Place prize: A custom-made, personalized ROGER MILLER “KING OF THE ROAD” jacket. For some, the most thrilling show entries will be in the “Baddest Pick-up Truck” class. These trucks must be the toughest, strongest and best looking for their owners to earn their KING OF THE ROAD jacket. Day-time visitors will enjoy live music, savor food from an excellent vendor line-up and shop around for new family treasures at the arts and crafts booths inside the arena. Weather will not be a major factor for this year’s festival: With the exception of the car and truck show, all activities will be held inside the enclosed Lost Creek Ranch Arena. Liles, Managing Partner of ALL Entertainment LLC and founder of the Buckin Wild Music Fest gladly accepted the opportunity to collaborate on this year’s Roger Miller Festival. The first annual Buckin Wild Music Fest drew nearly 3,000 people on July 18-19 at Lost Creek.
“People from Erick and Sayre, Oklahoma as well as Shamrock and Wheeler, Texas are working together on the new Roger Miller Festival, and that’s the really cool part,” said Liles, “neighboring communities partnering up to create a great event for more people to enjoy.”
“Roger Miller was one of a kind and ahead of his time,” says Debra Finsterwald, Roger Miller Museum Board Chairman. “Generations will enjoy his timeless music, witty quotes and stories about his extraordinary life. Roger would have loved this year’s event – the support of so many people, the music line-up and the King of the Road Car and Truck Show on Route 66 so close to his home are a great tribute!”
