Seattle Scottish Highland Games Association Join us and enjoy a wee bit of Scotland right here in the Pacific Northwest! Scottish ancestry is not required to join the Association.

The Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games & Clan Gathering is the sixth oldest gathering of its kind in the United States. Scotland comes to the Pacific Northwest every year on the last full weekend in July. It's a weekend not to be missed with fun, education, and traditional Scottish activities. Our Highland Games are growing substantially each year and include hundreds of pipers, dancers, drummers, athletes, pipe bands and clansmen, and all the color, pageantry, and excitement that they bring with them! Membership in the Seattle Scottish Highland Games Association is open to anyone interested in Scottish culture, traditions, heritage and furthering the aims and purposes of the Association. In the Association's zeal to organize a first class Highland Games, we created an out of control monster! Finding the volunteers needed to feed this voracious monster's appetite is a losing the battle. You can help by joining the Association, attending meetings, and volunteering. Our healthy future depends on it. Take the time to get involved...you'll be glad that you did!

Do you know why Shortbread is the national cookie of Scotland, why you don't catch a cold in Gaelic, or what waulking wool is?

Chaired by Alan McEachern, the Heritage Series brings history, education, and culture together to answer questions like these. Hands-on experiences where you really connect with the past.

SSHGA looks forward to bringing more heritage events to future games. Maybe even some Wh**ky tasting. Let us know what kind of presentations you would like to see in the comments!

World record?

The competitors at this year's games threw cabers, rocks, weights, hammers, and sheafs! One even went for a world record!

Shout-out to all the athletes who competed at this year's competition. Their athleticism is amazing to watch, combining strength and technique to push the limits. The games would literally not be possible without them.

Thanks to everyone for a great 2026 festival!

The Seattle Scottish Festival and Highland Games would not be possible without countless hours of work from our volunteers, pipe bands, athletes, kennel members, performers, and participants.

We can't wait to see everyone in 2027 for our 80th year!
