We're back at it with another edition of on Saturday Aug 1st from 11-4 with an Early Entry at 10 for $10. General Admission is $3 with KIDS FREE!

At Southern Tier PokeFan Expo -- we love COSPLAY!

Shaina with Cards both sponsored and presented our competitive contest as well as the Beginners Showcase and they were both a huge hit! Eevee even kicked it off for the beginners.

What an amazing first year! Congratulations to all of our winners and participants for bringing out their best looks from Pokemon and worlds beyond. We can't wait to watch the numbers grow in size next year!

Before there was a Southern Tier PokéFan Expo, there was one simple introduction.
Today, we want to celebrate someone who has been quietly shaping our community for years Jared from Heroes Comic Shop in Elmira Heights

There is one thing many people may not know: without Jared, the Southern Tier PokéFan Expo might never have happened. Jared is the person who introduced Stephanie from Friday Creative Events to Kayla fromThe Game Shoppe That single introduction brought together the partnership that turned a shared vision into reality. Sometimes the biggest moments start with one simple conversation, and we're incredibly grateful that Jared made it happen.

At the Expo, Jared and the Heroes Comics team did far more than just show up. They welcomed attendees at the mall entrance, helped guests get where they needed to go, answered questions, and kept everything running smoothly while also operating an incredible vendor booth throughout the day.

But that's who Jared is.

For the past five years, Jared has been a pillar of the Southern Tier pop culture community. Through the Pop Expos in Elmira Heights—and now expanding into Corning. He has dedicated countless hours to bringing people together and creating spaces where fans, families, artists, vendors, and local businesses can celebrate the hobbies and communities they love.

Jared isn't just the owner of Heroes Comics. He's a friend, a mentor, and someone who genuinely cares about the people around him. He's the kind of person who always has time for a conversation, to offer encouragement, share a laugh, or recommend your next great comic.

If you're looking for comics or simply want to spend some time talking with someone who genuinely loves the hobby, make a trip to 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟯𝟬 𝗪. 𝟭𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘁., 𝗘𝗹𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝗡𝗬 𝟭𝟰𝟵𝟬𝟯 Whether you're a lifelong comic reader or just getting started, Jared is always happy to help you find your next great read, answer your questions, or simply have a great conversation. With the chaos of the event in full swing, we didn't get a ton of photos but we want to send out a massive THANK YOU to Todd Kerbein Jr.r and the crew at Royal Rook for sponsoring the Battle Stadium Retro Gaming and the Global Trade Station respectively!

The Royal Rook is located in Owego, NY and provides a one-stop shop for all your trading card needs from TCG to sports and in between. Join them for gaming nights as well as semi-monthly card shows!

Todd's Trading Post will be coming SOON to the Arnot Mall next to Hot Topic so be sure you're staying tuned for all the updates as we intend to show our support!

We've said it before that some people help make an event happen and that's exactly what Shaina from Keystone Cards was able to do with our Cosplay Contest and Beginners Showcase. As she's worked with us before, we knew she was going to be amazing, but the way she helped us in other areas of the event is what makes her so special.

We will have another post highlighting our contest winners, but wanted to give Shaina all her flowers that she so rightfully deserves! Hopefully she continues this journey with us as we couldn't do this without her.

We want to offer our MANY thanks to our premiere MASTER BALL SPONSOR Copy Express out of Downtown Elmira.

The team at Copy Express were enthusiastic from the very beginning, eager to share their ideas and to offer solutions to ALL of our printing needs for this event. All the signs, the banners, and even the event poster and artist card were all printed locally in Elmira by this incredible group who we are happy to have had with us on this journey.

And it didn't stop there! They brought all the smiles to attendees with their fun and innovative interactive Pokemon Card photos which were printed out on the spot. Even Eevee got in on the fun! Needless to say, we loved all they were able to bring to the table and are super grateful for all of their hard work. We can't wait to work with them on the next one!
