RUNNING SCARED MOTION PICTURES — ONE MORE MONSTER

I’ve been wanting to experiment with a short form cinematic series for a while, and I think I finally found the right story to do it with.

ONE MORE MONSTER is being developed as a multi part horror mini-series, with episodes running roughly 10 minutes each.
Instead of trying to shoot one massive project all at once, the plan is to film this piece episode by episode over the next 3–4 months, with most episodes requiring only one day of filming.

There will be an ongoing A-story connecting everything, but the format gives us room to introduce new characters, side stories, victims, killers, allies, and subplots along the way. Ultimately bring all eight episodes together into one complete story that can play almost like a short feature.

And that is a huge part of why I want to make this.

There are a lot of actors and actresses I’ve talked to over the years that I’ve wanted to get in front of my camera but simply haven’t had the right project, role, or schedule line up. This is the project where I want to change that.

I’m looking for strong actors and actresses who want to come make something cinematic, strange, dark, atmospheric, and memorable with us.

Some roles may only appear in one episode. Others could become recurring characters and grow as the story develops.
We already have Sylvan Moreland, Cameron Mack, and Lindsey DeLand entering this world.

This is NOT an open practice shoot or something we’re throwing together just to create content. I want every episode treated like its own short film, carefully shot, performed, lit, edited, scored, and designed to feel like it belongs in the same world.

So if you’ve wanted to work with Running Scared Motion Pictures, or we’ve talked before and just haven’t found the right opportunity yet… Now might be the time.

This is an unpaid collaboration. Everyone involved will receive credit, food on set, and finished footage for their reel.
And as I’ve always tried to do with the people who give their time to my projects, I believe in returning that support. If you’re working on something of your own, I’m happy to contribute where I can. Whether that means lending a hand on set, helping with production, or making gear available when possible.

Filming will take place near the Springfield MA area.
Actors, actresses, and crew interested in being involved can reach out at: [email protected]

Tell me who you are, what you do, where you’re located, and send along any headshots, reels, IMDb pages, previous work, or anything else you’d like me to see.
Over the next few months… we’re making monsters.

At 7pm on Saturday, July 25th at Abandoned Building Brewery we’ll be hosting a showcase screening of selected short comedies by local filmmakers. The presentation will run about 1 hour and will be followed by a talkback with attending filmmakers. After that we’ll hang out, network, and be social until ABB closes at 10pm. The program will include the following MA-made shorts:

"Join the Club" by Melissa Dimetres (Easthampton)
"The Journey Home" by Cole Whitaker (Colrain)
"'98 Honda" by Christian Banda (Springfield)
"The Trip" by Ayla Hadimi Ladha & Sarah Feldman (Northampton)
"The Doer" by Richard Williams (Lowell)

This event will be free and open to the public, but seating is limited. ABB allows you to bring drinks over from the adjacent bar, and outside food is welcome, too (including from Vegan Pizza Land, which is literally right outside).

Just Announced: a special summer screening!

Its been a while! We thought it would be a good idea to combine our usual filmmaker meetup, with a screening of some shorts.
Some you may have seen at previous EFF events. Some you may have seen because they are local filmmakers.
This event has no entry fee, thanks to the folks at ABB, for lending us their space. We are forever grateful for their support.

Oh, how they worked so cohesively together this year! We are lucky to have you both. With out you, we could not run.

The Audience members who support those filmmakers. Who come out, sit in the seats... listen/watch.

The Venues. Every gathering needs a home.We dont take for granted what Cityspace, Marigold, THCC, E-Media, Visions Video and Smith have offered us. Not only their space, but also the humans behind those spaces.

There are hundreds of people for us to thank, who contribute to everything we are.

The Filmmakers are the obvious ones to start with.
Thank you to all of the creators who take the leap, and commit to the endeavor of creating.

Any Film Fest begins with the courage of the Filmmaker. It continues with the willpower and hard work of they instill in their team.

Thank you to the filmmakers. Some who've submitted their work for the first time. May you continue to create!
