Chef Joe has prepared a five-course menu, and each course will be expertly paired with an exceptional wine.
This dinner is priced at $100 per person, which includes tax and gratuity.
Note that seating for this special dinner is limited, and we do expect it to sell out.

The Mushroom Hunt presented by Vectra Bank has become a “wildly” popular event on Durango’s summer calendar. The forested area around the Resort is known far and wide for having an abundance of wild mushrooms.
On this guided foray, local mushroom experts take small groups far back on the mountain to explore the forest for a wide variety of mushrooms. Your guides will assist you with identifying different types of mushrooms and provide helpful information along the way. Refreshments are included.
The guided foray is priced at $39 per person.
9:15am — Meet in the plaza in the base area to check in.
Guests will then drive to the backside of the mountain. The road is fine for 2WD vehicles and takes about 20 minutes.
From 9:45 – 12:15, we will hunt for mushrooms and enjoy refreshments.

Mushroom Cooking & Wine Pairing Class: 12:45 – 1:30pm in Hoody’s Lodge. Join the chef from one of our participating restaurants, along with our wine sommelier, as they lead a discussion on the subtle secrets of cooking with mushrooms and pairing wines with mushrooms. These two have tons of knowledge and they are eager to share it with you!
This class is just $10 and is limited to 25 guests.
Culinary Extravaganza: 1:30 – 4pm in the festival tent.
In the afternoon, six of Durango’s finest restaurants, plus our own chefs at Purgatory Resort, will share their favorite mushroom-inspired dishes! Each dish includes a wine pairing personally selected by the chef. The event also includes live music from State 38. This is an afternoon that your taste buds won’t soon forget! The culinary extravaganza is priced at $45 for adults and $30 for guests under the age of 21.
Participating Restaurants
Each year we invite six local restaurants to participate in the culinary showcase on Saturday afternoon. Our own chefs from Purgy’s also participate in the festival with their own mushroom dish and a mushroom dessert.
Our goal is to partner with the finest restaurants in Durango to make this a truly exceptional experience for our guests.
