What an amazing weekend in Durango at the inaugural San Juan Songwriters Festival! So many incredible songwriters and storytellers… big shout out to Jesse Ogle, Danny Myrick, Alex Dunn, Maggie Hunter, and Thom
Chacon for curating a wonderful listening space for me.

The songs may be over, but the impact can keep going. 🎶

One of the most important reasons we created the San Juan Songwriters Festival was to support iAM MUSIC and its work with young people in our community.

iAM MUSIC is a Durango-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps give young people access to music education, instruments, scholarships, mentorship and real-world opportunities to learn, perform and grow.

For some kids, music is much more than an extracurricular activity. It can build confidence, create connection and open a door they might never have had otherwise.

Still riding high from an incredible weekend of music in Durango!

The inaugural San Juan Songwriters Festival brought together an amazing group of songwriter, filling the weekend with great songs, stories, laughs, and many moments we won’t soon forget.

A HUGE thank you to iAM MUSIC for helping to make this festival come to life, to every artist who shared their music with us, and to everyone who came out and helped make the first one so special.

There were a lot of moments to look back at but here are a few from the weekend.

That’s a wrap on the inaugural, San Juan Songwriters Festival!

What an incredible few days of songs, stories, friendships and seriously talented people.

A perfect way to close it out tonight with Matraca Berg, Rivers Rutherford and special guest Jeff Hanna of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band at Durango Harley-Davidson.

So much gratitude to Danny Myrick , iAM MUSIC , all of our artists, venues, sponsors, patrons, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who helped bring this festival to life.

And most of all, thank you to everyone who came out, filled the rooms and supported these incredible songwriters and live music in Durango.

What a weekend. What a community. See you next year!

SATURDAY!

Enjoy a lovely morning in Durango, and then get ready for a FULL day and night of music!

🎵 We're kicking it off at the Diamond Belle Saloon with Maggie Hunter and McConathy. Then the music takes over Durango at the Wild Horse Saloon - Durango's Favorite H***y Tonk , Leland House Suites, Lola's, The Gather Room , The Rochester Hotel Garden and Four Leaves Winery.

The Durango Harley-Davidson headliner shows are going to be legendary, with Rivers Rutherford and Matraca Berg .

🍾 And then we party at Wild Horse with an All-star Cover Jam After Party where anything goes!

Friday understood the assignment.

Songs spilling out of venues all over downtown. Songwriters trading stories, packed rooms, familiar favorites and plenty of new ones to take home with you.

And that was just Friday.

We’re back at it Saturday. Music starts at 1 PM.

We've got a fantastic afternoon and evening of music planned for you, starting at Wild Horse Saloon - Durango's Favorite H***y Tonk with Dylan Altman and Danny Myrick, and continuing throughout downtown Durango at the Diamond Belle Saloon, The Rochester Hotel Garden and Four Leaves Winery.

Then it's on to the headliner shows at Durango Harley-Davidson with Marti Frederiksen and Kara DioGuardi.
