In case you didn’t get the email that was sent this morning here are the details for tomorrow’s race:
WHEN AND WHERE CAN I GET MY PACKET?Packets will be available outside of the Dormont Pool Lobby (1801 Dormont Avenue, Dormont, PA 15216) on Sunday before the race from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. NOTE: We encourage you to pick-up your race bib early on race day.
If you purchased a commemorative race shirt, you can also pick it up during registration. If you did not purchase a shirt in advance, a VERY limited amount of t-shirts will be available for purchase at an additional charge at packet pick-up and/or race day while supplies last. Cards only. (If you're not able to pick-up your shirt during packet pick-up or on race day, stop by the Dormont Borough offices to pick it up the week following the race). We will also have a few vintage shirts from years past for purchase.
WHERE CAN I PARK?There will be limited parking in the Dormont Pool Parking lot. Additional parking is available in the Kuhn’s parking lot in between Jet’s Pizza and PNC Bank and around Dormont Park. Please give yourself plenty of time as we have over 200 Dashers signed up and we will start on-time! IS REGISTRATION FOR THE RACE STILL OPEN?Yes, registration is still open! At this point we don't plan to have race-day registration, but participants can continue to register online until registrations sell out. We have a very limited number of spots left (first 215 runners registered are guaranteed a custom finisher's medal) - so register ASAP to secure your spot if you haven't already!: www.tinyurl.com/DormontDash. WHERE ARE THE RESTROOMS?Restroom facilities are available in the Thomas Lloyd Recreation Center (take the stairs/ramp up to the 2nd level). WHAT IS THE 5K COURSE?The 5K will begin and end on Memorial Drive in Dormont Park and follows the hills and tree-lined streets of Dormont on the west side of West Liberty Avenue. However, we do ask that you kindly move to the back of the start line to avoid any congestion. We also ask that if you are taking a slower pace, that once you leave the park, please use the sidewalk as you finish. ARE DOGS PERMITTED ON THE RACE COURSE?We love dogs! However, dogs may not participate alongside their owners in our 5K race. In order to keep our race safe and enjoyable to all participants, please leave your dog safely at home. The only exception is for service dogs - but they must be certified, must wear their official service-dog vest, and must be on a six-foot (or shorter) leash at all times.HOW DOES THE TIMING SYSTEM WORK?We are using GCXC Race Timing + Race Management. Start and finish mats will be provided to electronically time your performance.Your official race time begins when you cross the start mat and finishes when you cross the mat again. Therefore, the finish line clock time may not match up with your actual chip time results. Chip time results will be available on-site and online. GCXC will display results on-site for everyone to see at the conclusion of the event. To see your individual results and claim them to your Athlinks account, go the the link below. Results will post in real time at the conclusion of the race.
We look forward to seeing you on race day!
