Dixon Fun Run/Walk

Dixon Fun Run/Walk The Dixon Fun Run/Walk is a benefit run to raise money for youth in our community. The Spring Fun Run is set for MAY 17, 2013.

Donations made by businesses and individuals along with money made through entry fees will go toward providing educational and extracurricular opportunities for our youth. This year's event will feature a 5k (approx 3.1 mile run) and a 1 Mile youth option. Youth participants are encouraged to sign up for either race. Entry fees are $15.00 for adults and youth in seventh grade or older and $10.00 f

or youth sixth grade and below. Participants are encouraged to pre-register (before May 2nd) to ensure they receive a t-shirt in their requested size. T-shirt sizes may be limited for those who register the day of the event. Start Times: May 17, 2013

8:00-8:50a.m. race registration
9:00am 5k start
9:15am 1 Mile start
Awards and prizes to follow completion.

Update: A few more prizes have arrived so we will give prizes to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the 5k men's and women's categories. The 1 mile race will have prizes for 1st and 2nd in the male and female age categories! YAY!!! more chances to win something. run fast:)

Prize Categories for Dixon Fun Run:

1 MILE Youth Run:

8 & Under - 1st place boy and girl
9 and over - 1st place boy and girl

*Only youth participants will be eligible for prize in 1 mile race. All YOUTH finishers will receive a medal in this event.

5K Run/Walk:

8 & under - 1st and 2nd (male and female)
9 to 14 - 1st and 2nd (male and female)
15 to 18 - 1st and 2nd (male and female)
19 and up - 1st and 2nd (male and female)
50 and over - 1st and 2nd (male and female)

*Adult and youth finishers of the 5k will receive a medal.

Timing: Participants of the 1 Mile will be given color coded name tags. Upon finishing participants must hand in their name tag for their time/placing. 5K participants will be given big numbers. Each bib has a removable bottom section which should be handed to the timing official upon completing the course. Registered runners must make sure they fill out their information on the bottom of the bib (name and age).

The perks of registering early:

1. We'll set aside a shirt for you (they are first come first serve)
2. You are guaranteed a goody bag
3. You'll be warming up for a great race while everyone else is stuck in line come race day

There is still plenty of time to register early for the event. You can mail registration to PO Box 502, Dixon, NM 87527 or register on active.com.
