Happy New Year! I hope this year is off to a great start for each of you! I want to start off by saying, THANK YOU to everyone for participating, donating, supporting, and volunteering for the Autism Ride each year. This ride was an idea from my son 4 years ago, and I never would've imagined it grow into what it has.
This is a fairly LONG post, so please take the time to read through it, should you decide to do so.
This past year's ride taught me more than any other ride, and also made me the most humble. It was the biggest ride to date. While it went off very smoothly, there were a few hiccups, and I personally am still dealing with a few of these. I made several mistakes and I'm still going through what can be better and how not to do those things in the future.
What most don't know is 10 days after the 2023 ride, my kids lost their dad to su***de. I stopped everything and focused on my kids, which is where my focus is still.
After a lot of prayer, and guidance, I will not be putting together a ride for 2024. I will pick it back up in 2025, and hopefully, it'll be just as great as the previous years, but with lots of changes.
I know a few people (groups) are putting a separate ride together for this year, so please go and support them. The cause is the same, bringing awareness and support to those on spectrum.
Again, THANK YOU all for your support, patience, and understanding. Until next year, ride safe and keep the shiny side up! S.B. 💙
