In honor of National 4-H week, we would like to share an area of Liberty Hall that is part of Union County 4-H history. The 4-H uniforms belonged to Lela Burkhalter and Linda Hadley (Linda Scheel). Also we feature an article about the Iowa Public Television 4-H Documentary that Laurel Bower produced.

These items are part of our farm corner display.

Thank you to Cheyenne Roche and the Creston News Advertiser for covering the Zach Lahn event at Liberty Hall. We must have missed the digital addition on Facebook but it did make the paper copy on Friday September 25, 2026. We appreciate your fair and balanced coverage of his town hall meeting.

Recently we acquired a treasured piece of Creston history. As Amy and Christian have been renovating the Strand Theater Creston IA they found this old window frame of the beauty shop. Unfortunately, it did not work in their renovation plan but we are grateful that they contacted us.
A special thanks to their contractors on preserving this heirloom and to John, Greg, and Jake for building a frame and hanging it up at Liberty Hall.
You can see it on display this Saturday from 9am to 1pm.
By the way, the Strand Theater will have popcorn for sale on Saturday. Stop by and buy a bag!
Thank you Amy and Christian for sharing this Creston heirloom with us!
