A Crab Orchard Christmas

A Crab Orchard Christmas The Zyla's Christmas light show is a computerized light display that is Broadcasted over FM Radio. During the month of December things change.

With a population of 47 people and about 16 houses, The town of Crab Orchard Nebraska is a quite town most days of the year. A Crab Orchard Christmas brings an approximate 3,000 visitors from the surrounding areas into this small town. Cars line the street to watch the show. The show is computerized and broadcasted on short range FM radio. Containing approx 50,000 lights, and the introduction of

pixels, visitors sit in their cars, tune the radio to the station, and watch the spectacle of lights dance to music.

*****We WILL NOT be having a display this year*****

In 2011 we embarked on an idea to decorate our yard with computer controlled lights. From there- every year we committed countless hours and expenses to see the joy on the faces of our visitors. As the years pass the technology changes, props need replacing and the normal upkeep of having a display in the Nebraska winter come to light. As our display and US grow older, we had to decide if this was a commitment we wanted to continue. It deeply saddens us to say that with everything combined- the cost, time, our health, family dynamics ect, the answer was unfortunately no. Just a reminder our show runs 6-10pm tonight and all night on Christmas Eve. Last night for the show this year is December 25th 6-10pm. Come out and see the lights!!

Due to the feedback from visitors (or soon to be) we have decided to change the days we run our show.

The lights will turn on TONIGHT and run 6-10pm daily until the 25th. Christmas Eve they will run all night and Christmas Day will be the last day for our show.

As of now Dec 16th will be the last time Santa visits. 6-10pm. The lights will be back on Friday at 6pm and run the 15th-25th 6-10pm. On December 24th they will run all night until Christmas morning.
