The first Shiawassee County Fair on record was held in 1850; it was the beginning of what has become a great tradition. The format has changed over the years; some years were missed due to the economy, some due to war, but it is truly an important part of the lives of many Shiawassee County residents. The fairgrounds on Hibbard Road just outside of Corunna was first used in 1988 and has grown into a beautiful facility housing activities that begin in April and continue into October, including horse shows, craft fairs, auctions, and a variety of other entertaining events.

As printed in our fair book - checks MUST be cashed by 10/15/26! We will NOT reissue checks not cashed by that date!!!!

Cash them and use the money for your next great project!!!!

Premium, Livestock Sale and Still Exhibit Sale Checks are ready for pickup!!!! Once again, we have beaten our own record!!!

Please remember that checks $5 and under must be picked up. With the price of postage, we need everyone to stop by and pick up their check no matter what the amount!!! If you are picking checks up for someone else, you must present written permission or a text message giving permission.

Office hours for check pickup are:

Wednesday September 9: 9-6
Thursday September 10: 9-6
Friday September 11: 9-4
Monday September 14: 9-5
Tuesday September 15: 10 -6
Wednesday September 16: 9-6
Thursday September 17: 9-5
Friday September 18: Office Closed
Monday September 21: Checks over $5 not picked up will be mailed out.

What a day here at the Shiawassee County Fairgrounds! We are proud to provide a facility for the Corunna Cross Country Teams to host their annual early bird race. Schools from all over the state and according to the registration website approximately 600 runners today in this heat and humidity. You have to love their dedication and their passion for their sport. We are very proud to be a community partner with Corunna Public Schools.

Just a reminder the Fair Office will be closed on Friday September 4 and Monday September 7 for a long holiday weekend!

Last night at the Shiawassee County Farm Bureau Annual Dinner, Shiawassee County Fair was well represented!

Congratulations to Ken and Judy Kirkman on receiving the Distinguised Service Award!

Kandi and Ellen Rivette were awarded the Volunteers of the Year!!

Shiawassee County Fair received the Ag-Communicator Award for its media support and service to the Agricultural Community!
