Hey COMIC Bowlers! The checks for COMIC 2026 have all been initiated for distribution by our banking institution, Fifth Third Bank. Look for them to arrive within the next 7 to 10 days (and be careful, their postcard design may get confused with junk mail).
Final bowling results will be posted on the COMIC website shortly.
COMIC 2026 paid 1:8 this year. The total cash payout for standard events and optional side events totaled $26,850. And that’s not counting the winnings distributed from all the raffles, brackets, etc. that were paid out in cash during tournament weekend.
Did you know… $57 of your $130 entry is designated for the prize fund (192 bowlers, $10,944). This means COMIC’s year-long efforts raised another $15,906 to contribute to payouts. In addition, once the bill-dust settles, we will be giving Kaleidoscope Youth Center another big donation this year.
COMIC is committed to providing you a great event every year.
This is only possible due to the support of:
- The committee and volunteers, many who do not bowl or didn’t bowl that weekend
- Our bowling house, HP Lanes, that supports our efforts year round
- The Columbus LGBTQ+ bowling leagues and bowlers who supported fundraisers like Mystery Score, Jester & Halloween No-Tap Tournaments, Euchre and Co****le tournaments, and other efforts all year.
- Our continuously growing list of tournament sponsors who support our efforts all year long
- And YOU, the bowlers throughout the weekend with COMIC Cups, Bowling Ball Raffles, the committee-donated Baskets Raffle, Mega and Regular Brackets, and those who turned out for Saturday night’s COMIC Committee Show.
If you do not receive a check by June 15, or if you have additional questions, please email [email protected] or contact a COMIC Co-Director.
Please deposit/cash your checks as soon as possible upon receipt.
We are so glad you joined us this year. COMIC is an LGBTQ+ family and community event. We appreciate your support and look forward to you joining us again for COMIC 2027 (April 23-25, 2027).
Sincerely,
Cody Burke, Treasurer
James Sorensen & Dan Finfrock, Co-Directors
