Ecofab Trash Couture

Ecofab Trash Couture Recycle + Reuse + Reduce = eco FAB Trash Couture - These aren't just catchy words for us - Sustainab

ecoFAB Trash Couture is about the collective voice that resound stronger and louder in the effort to bring awareness back to art. It’s about the community, about our collective beliefs, about each other. The Art Ecologie premise is to promote one another in our individual art in bringing attention to who we are by different means, different vehicles. We are all artists, different in our media, our

techniques, our voice, we all have one thing in common, passion for creating and the ability to step outside our everyday skills to bring something different as a group.

Sadly we have to announce our decision not to hold our ecoFAB Trash Couture show in 2021 in light of the continuing pandemic. We don't know how the situation will be in August which is when we typically hold our show, though we know that even if social distancing sanctions are lifted, most of us will still be very cautious with what we do. This decision was not made lightly again, I for one are so very ready to start having and going to shows and gallery openings and so on to fill my heart with joy! Keep positive, keep healthy and we shall see you in 2022 FOR SURE!!!

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce our decision to cancel our 2020 ecoFAB Trash Couture event in light of the lingering pandemic. We don't know how the situation will be in August though we know that social distancing will most probably still be in effect and that changes everything when it comes to a live show. This decision was not made lightly, as we know we all want and need things like our show to keep us sane especially in trying times like these! Keep positive, keep healthy and we shall see you in 2021!!!

Art Ecologie Group is looking for artist to participate in a two-part, multi-platform art event that challenges their boundaries. Part one is the creation of a recycled garment, an outfit made entirely out of recycled materials, paper, plastic, metal, no fabric. Part two is the creation a painting or 2D piece and a sculpture or 3D piece that have been influenced by the outfit or vice versa. You can create an outfit inspired by an existing painting and/or sculpture. The influence has to be obvious, either by the use of the materials, the colors, or the overall lines. email us here [email protected] to sign up

And we begin... ecoFAB 2020 is set for August 29th, 2020!!! Though it’s 6 months away, time has been flying lately and trashion has proven to be quite a complex task to perfect so here I am, started on my piece for this year’s show. Last year or so, someone gave me their scrap plastic mesh. I don’t even know where it came from. I found it a couple of months ago and I had an epiphany right there and then! Use it to weave strips of plastic bags. I have collected a massive amount of plastic trash form my community and among these are some bags from Cost Plus World Market. I put out a call for my friends who might still be recycling plastic bags and ordered the mesh online. I found out it’s used for reptile tanks and the scrap I got was super long but skinny so I had to buy some for my dress. And now I begin the process of weaving it!!! Keep your fingers crossed!!!!
