Based in Joe's Valley, Utah, Joe's Valley Fest is a non-profit 501c3 on a mission to enhance the local economy and build community by bringing rock climbers and locals together around our shared enthusiasm for the outdoors. Join us in Emery County October 5-8, 2023 for our world-famous festival, where you'll learn from professional climbers, connect with local artisans, and get buck during events like the annual rodeo. Keep an eye out for year-round projects from our advocacy group, the experts on climbing advocacy, stewardship, and community outreach around Joe’s Valley.

Kyra Condie and Genevieve Walker brought the STOKE to Joe’s Valley Fest!🤩 From dialing in your footwork to taking gym strength to real rock, these clinics were packed with beta worth taking home and skills worth putting to the test.

👉New tricks. Different perspectives. A few more tools for the next time you’re staring down a problem thinking, “HOW the heck do I climb that?!”

A little western craftsmanship in the heart of Joe’s Valley!
This clinic SELLS OUT every year, and it’s easy to see why!

Jon and Cindy Judd of San Rafael Works started their journey in 1981 when Jon made Cindy a saddle of her own. What began out of necessity grew into a family business rooted in western tradition and exceptional craftsmanship.🐎

From custom saddles and leatherwork to handcrafted sterling silver jewelry, they’ve spent decades perfecting their craft right here in Emery County.

Every year they welcomed climbers into their studio to make their own copper jewelry, learn from local artisans, and take home something made by hand.🙌

STEER RIDING AT JOE’S VALLEY FEST?! Yep. We really did that.😆

What a WEEKEND. From world class climbing and challenging climber games to live music, local food, wild rodeo moments, and everything in between, Joe’s Valley Fest was one for the books.🔥

🫶Huge THANK YOU to everyone who showed up, got after it, volunteered, sponsored, climbed, rode, danced, and helped make this weekend what it is.

SATURDAY IS IN FULL SWING!!🤩🔥 We kicked things off this morning with a Kodiak pancake breakfast, free coffee, shoe demos, and Yoga in the Park, and there’s still SO much more happening today!!

Our climbing clinics are out on the rocks today with some seriously incredible athletes and instructors.🤘 Whether you’re looking to sharpen your technique, move more efficiently, build confidence on the wall, or just pick up a few new tricks from climbers who know their stuff, today’s clinics are all about learning, trying something new, and getting more out of your time on the rock.🙌

And if you missed out on a clinic, don’t worry, the afternoon and evening are STACKED.👀

🔥TRADE FAIR from 2-7PM!
Come hang out at the Emery County Rec Center lawn and check out sponsor and nonprofit booths, artisan vendors, Junior Entrepreneurs, food trucks, and more!

🍻 JVF X LA SPORTIVA BLOCK PARTY from 4-6PM!
Grab a drink, catch up with friends, meet new people, and soak up the Fest energy.

💪 CLIMBER GAMES from 4:30-6:30PM!
Put those unique climber skills to the test with table bouldering, crate stacking, crash pad crashing, and challenges from the Adaptive Climber Group!

And then comes one of the BIGGEST moments of the day…👀

🔥THE HUGE RAFFLE DRAWING AT 7PM!!🔥

If you’ve been collecting raffle tickets, THIS is what they’re for. We’ve got some seriously awesome prizes from our sponsors up for grabs, so make sure you’re there, tickets in hand, and ready to see if your name gets called!!🙌

Okayyyy, it’s FRIDAY at Joe’s Valley Fest and today is PACKED!!🤩

Climbing clinics are happening today!🤘 Come learn how to move more efficiently, dial in your footwork and technique, and tackle slabs, slopers, and mantles with confidence. You’ll also pick up projecting tactics to help you find beta, manage your energy and skin, and make those send attempts count.🙌

And when you’re ready for a break from the rocks, head over to our artisan clinics and get hands-on! Make your own donuts, learn to throw a GIANT PIZZA🍕 , and try your hand at copper jewelry making. It’s a chance to get creative and learn something new!

🔥Later, it’s time for the RODEO!! Come watch and cheer on the action, or jump into the games yourself with steer riding, hide racing, and chicken chases. It’s going to be a fun one!!

But we’re not done yet…

Grab your crew, bring your headlamp, and come experience Joe’s Valley after dark.🔥 There’s something pretty special about night climbing with the Joe’s community.🫶

WET ROCK UPDATE | 10/1

On Monday, Joe’s Valley saw heavy rain and flash flood conditions! It’s been over 48 hours, but the rock and surrounding soil are still holding moisture.👈

❌Please do NOT climb today. Give the rock the full day today to dry!!

☀️We’ve got full sun today, which should help conditions improve significantly! New Joe’s is looking optimistic for tomorrow, but we’ll keep you updated. Please check the soil near the boulders and look for signs of moisture on the rock before climbing tomorrow.

‼️We’re also pivoting on our night bouldering event tonight. We are extending our Hometown Hangout until 10pm, with extra games, music, dancing and line dancing! Thanks for helping us protect Joe’s Valley!
