Gizmo-CDA organized the 1st Ever Coeur d'Alene Mini Maker Faire in partnership with the University of Idaho, Community Library Network and North Idaho College.

We had 93 booths, exhibits and hands-on activities from makers of all kinds. The Maker Faire team rallied the community to participate and celebrate in the maker movement at our special event. People of all walks of life and all ages engaged in creative play, built new things and made connections.

We had an estimate of 2200 people attend our Maker Faire, making it a huge success for Gizmo! We thank our hardworking volunteers, makers who pledged their time & talent and our sponsors who helped make this one-of-a-kind event possible. We look forward to engaging the community in another great event next year!

Yet another awesome maker we will have this Saturday is Robosprout: 3D Printers and Rapid Prototyping! RoboSprout is located in Coeur d’Alene, ID and is devoted to open source/ open hardware. Their focus is on 3D printers, rapid prototyping, custom electronics prototypes, and small batch contract manufacturing. At the Maker Faire event they will be having a demonstration of 3D printing and rapid prototyping. Attendees will be able to see firsthand the process of 3D printing and its tangible results!

Imanaeul Skate Art is going to be showcasing their skate art this weekend with us! Attendees will participate by creating a collaborative spray paint skateboard piece of art. We can't wait to help with this hands on kind of fun!

Youngstone Art is another maker who will be joining us this Saturday! Dale has been carving stone for 25 years and uses columnar basalt and limestone, as well as granite, to create sculptures for private and public commissions. Attendees of the event will learn to carve blocks of limestone with Dale's guidance.

Space8unny Art is going to be at our event showing off her artwork and sharing her knowledge! Desiree is a local freelance artist that has worked with many different mediums, but paint and clay are two of her favorites. There will be a display of her crafts and an active demo of her clay art and the process she uses to make a piece before its baked. You can learn simple techniques, check out her display, and see the magic of clay at work!

Have you been down to Virtual Reality CDA - VRCDA yet? If you have then you already know how awesome they are and if not then you probably should! Either way, they are going to be at our event this Saturday doing a demonstration of virtual reality technology by allowing people to create and experience virtual worlds. This hands on exhibit is sure to be a fun showcase that you won't want to miss!
