AlmaVision: Cultura y Más was formed to create opportunities such as this for our community and for all who are interested in sharing in our culture and traditions.

The main goal of this workshop is to teach the artform so that it continues to thrive in our city. We feel it is our responsibility to pass on this knowledge to younger generations so that they can continue representing our culture proudly through Bailes Folklóricos.

And what amazing teachers we have! Lilly and Nalleli are sharing a lifetime of knowledge and experience through these workshops. We are also very proud of our participants who are putting in the work and acquiring these tools to carry on this tradition.

As part of our Emerging Artist Theatre Series, we present a reading of Star Crossed by Lionel Morales.

In this story, we see the time honored term, “star crossed lovers” get a bit of a Sci-Fi spin. Two strangers are thrown into a wild journey when they find out they are literally, universally, and astrologically meant to be. As they navigate their way through this cosmic connection, they begin to relearn themselves as individuals, and explore the idea of what healthy relationships should be.

We proudly present Lionel Morales, a Latin/Indigenous multi-disciplined artist from Cleveland, Ohio. Lionel’s career in the arts began with his love for music, creating and performing across the city with his hip-hop group, New Genesis. As an actor, Lionel has been involved in productions such as Alter by Tania Benites at Teatro Público de Cleveland; You Go On by Matt Gittins at BorderLight CLE 2025; and Haunted by Tara Moses at Cleveland Public Theatre.

This will be Lionel’s first venture in the world of playwriting. A self-proclaimed Shakespeare nerd, he has always been interested in the potential opportunity of writing his own script, and finally found the perfect starting point in Star Crossed, a story blended with elements of romance and Sci-Fi.

Lionel believes that art is one of the most pure and beautiful forms of expression, and hopes that his works reach and inspire others to express themselves uniquely and unapologetically.

This two-part series is dedicated to uplifting artists communities (specifically theatre) by creating intentional space for underrepresented artists to grow, experiment, and share their voices. By supporting and centering these emerging creatives, we’re investing in talents that deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

As part of this series, we’ll host two live readings (dates coming soon!) where the community can experience original works in progress, brought to life by emerging actors and playwrights. These events will invite the community to experience original works as actors bring playwrights’ stories to life. Each gathering is an opportunity for connection, collaboration, and creative growth.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for yesterday's training and to our guest instructors for sharing this vital information with us.

Special shout out to Diego who volunteered as our tech person, set up and tear down and for making a delicious horchata. To Lori for the delicious arroz con leche (it was a hit) and for all of the continuous planning and work you do.

Remember, inaction and silence is compliance. It is our duty as an indigenous/Mexican organization to speak up and do as much as we can to provide this information on how to protect ourselves and our community.
