Athletes
1. An athlete nominee must be a Clay County High School graduate.

The Clay County High School Athletic Hall of Fame was established in November, 2015 to honor former athletes, coaches, cheerleaders, and special contributors whose accomplishments have brought prestige and honor to athletics at Clay County High School. All nominees to the Hall of Fame must be individuals of good moral character, with outstanding leadership qualities and must be held in high esteem

by their colleagues, coaches and fellow athletes. Clay County High School Athletic Hall of Fame Bylaws

Mission Statement

The Clay County High School Athletic Hall of Fame was established on November 19, 2015 and exists to recognize and honor Clay County High School athletes, coaches, and contributors to the Clay County High School Athletic program. Board & Officers
• CCHS Hall of Fame shall be governed by a Board
• The Board shall elect a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and be responsible for recruiting and selecting new Board members as needed. (Can be a non-graduate of CCHS under extenuating circumstances)
2. An athlete nominee must be out of school for at least (5) years. (An exception can be made to the 5 year waiting period under extenuating circumstances)
3. An athlete nominee must be of good moral character, a good role model and a good citizen. Coaches
1. A coach may be nominated after coaching at the Clay County High School for a minimum of (5) years. (This 5 year rule may be waived under extenuating circumstances)
2. A coach must be of good moral character, a good role model and a good citizen. Contributors
1. A contributor can be nominated after having been a contributor for a minimum of (5) years.
2. A contributor can be nominated for monetary contributions, equipment provided, supplies or assistance to CCHS athletic programs.
3. A contributor nominee must be of good moral character, a good role model and a good citizen. Nomination Process
• Every person nominated shall be eligible for 3 induction rounds. (each induction ceremony defining an induction round) After the third induction round, those nominees shall be removed from consideration. Individuals may be re-nominated.
• Board Members will not be allowed to nominate individuals.
• Maximum of 5 inductees per year.
• Applications for nominations must be received by June 1st of the induction year. Selection Process
1. 75% of the Board must be present & voting to select inductees (6 of 8)
2. Nominees are selected by utilizing a point system

Induction Ceremony
The ceremony will be held each year on the Saturday evening of the Golden Delicious Festival. It will follow the Clay/Widen Alumni Dinner in the CCHS Auditorium. Nomination forms must be submitted by June 1st and are available at the Clay County Bank or the high school athletic department.

🏅NOMINATION CRITERIA:

ATHLETES (Baseball, Basketball, Football, Track & Field, Softball, Cross Country, Volleyball, Cheer, Wrestling)

1. An athlete nominee must be a Clay County High School graduate. (Can be a non-graduate of CCHS under extenuating circumstances.)

Since it's inception in 2016, the Clay County High School Athletic Hall of Fame has inducted 45 individuals who have excelled as a student-athlete, shown great leadership as a coach, or contributed as a member of the community that has gone above and beyond to give back to CCHS athletics.
This prestigious honor recognizes their hard work, dedication, leadership, and character.

We currently have 24 student-athletes, that were state champions or earned 1st Team All State honors, that qualify to be nominated and have not been. Members of the board of directors cannot nominate. Nominations MUST come from the outside (friends, family, teammates, etc.) and the board casts their votes based on the criteria listed below! As many as 5 individuals may be inducted each year with nominations active for 5 years for consideration before they would have to be nominated again.
