1, 2, & 3 Lap Endurance MTB Options on an 11.5 mile loop with flowing single & doubletrack punctuated with rock formations and natural springs.

Located in Defiance, MO and presented by SBR Bikes & Brews and YING YING YING. MARCH 26th, 2023
Lost Valley Luau is raced on the Lost Valley Trail. An 11 mile loop with a mixture of flowing singletrack and doubletrack punctuated with rock formations and natural springs. The race is run counter-clockwise as it puts most of the climbs on the doubletrack portion and the descents on the singletrack. T

he surface of the Lost Valley Trail singletrack varies from dirt to rock, to loose over hard, and as such is among the fastest draining trails in the area. However, don’t be fooled, the early Spring date often brings a twist to trail conditions (prepare for the worst, hope for the best) as the Race will be run rain or shine. The race starts at the Hamburg Trail Gate where the trail crosses Soldiers Drive, and continues on the Hamburg Trail until taking a right at the drop-in connector to the Lost Valley Trail. The course runs counter-clockwise at the bottom, which means racers will have about a mile's worth of doubletrack climbing to spread out before taking a right into the singletrack.

Yesterday’s 2026 Edition of the Lost Valley Luau is in the books. That was a wet & wild one ya’ll!

Firstly, a huge THANK YOU to the over 150 of you who came out and raced, Volunteered, and/or spectated & encouraged. The energy was unmatched, the vibes were high, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off the upcoming Season of racing & riding.

Shoutout to 4 Hands Brewing Company & SBR Bikes & Brews for their continued support of this Race (and so many other opportunities for us to join together as a cycling community).

2026 COURSE UPDATE! 🌿

We’ll be re-routing the course and skipping Phase 1 "The Lower Section" to avoid the wettest sections of trail.

Everything else stays the same — just a small tweak to keep things rolling a little smoother out there.👌

We appreciate everyone’s flexibility — It's springtime; this is just part of the game this time of year. Expect great conditions where it counts and a solid day on the bike.

Trail Report: The Lost Valley Trail is in near PERFECT conditions going into Sunday’s Race. Honestly, this is the fastest this Trail has been in years and should make for an amazing Season Opener for the STL area’s XC MTB Scene.

Last Day to register is this Friday by 6pm. We’ll see you out there!
