The 4th Annual 4 & 1/2 Block Walk will kick off the 2nd day of MayFest 2016 on Saturday, May 14th at 10am! Unlike any distance event you've ever seen, this grueling .34K (yes… that's POINT 3-4 Kilomoters!) will wander through the historic downtown business district of Cheney, WA. with unannounced detours, people in crazy costumes, and some great guest appearances by the likes of EWU's SWOOP Mascot
, Spokane Indians' Baseball Team's Otto Mascot, local area festival princesses, circus stilt-walkers, along with most of the Cheney High School Marching Band. This year's event will provide even more spectacle and fun than ever before! Of course there's no way to actually measure the amount of spectacle from year to year, let alone how much fun someone's having. It's really more just a ridiculously hopeful statement that guarantees to get everyone excited! Join us as we push ourselves to our physical and mental limits as we attempt to conquer 4 & 1/2 Blocks to raise money and awareness for American Cancer Society & the West Plain Relay For Life! This year's West plains Relay For Life is being held Saturday, May 14th from 6pm - 6am at the Cheney Middle School! Chenck out the American Cancer Society website and of course their page! Money at The 4th Annual 4 & 1/2 Block Walk is raised by people registering and paying online in advance of the event. All paying online registrants receive a T Shirt and Goofie Bag, with all proceeds after expenses going to American Cancer Society & the West Plain Relay For Life! Again this year, we are encouraging people to secure PLEDGES of at least A BUCK A BLOCK! That's just $4.50! That is truly silly and probably the easiest commitment for anyone to make! People may also simply donate to American Cancer Society & the West Plain Relay For Life online here or at the The 4th Annual 4 & 1/2 Block Walk. We encourage everyone to pay to register BUT we mostly just want LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of people to join us in The 4th Annual 4 & 1/2 Block Walk! So anyone may participate for free just by registering online here, which requires digitally signing the liability waiver; or you may sign up at the event by physically signing the liability waiver before we begin. You may still raise money by getting a PLEDGE PER BLOCK or just by donating to American Cancer Society & the West Plain Relay For Life if you are so moved! Come walk a TINY bit for cancer and celebrate historic downtown Cheney at MayFest 2016! Let's see just how many people and outright silliness 4 &1/2 Blocks can hold?!
