Anyone Looking for a Gig? Message us for contact info. Got this request from an acquaintance...
We're hosting a celebratory event on May 3, 2019 (1-3 pm). The theme is Ohana - family, inclusive celebration of graduation and the start of summer.
What I'm hearing from the staff lead on this event is that she is looking for something interactive with the possibility of Ukulele live players - but not so much with a performance as the focal point of the event, more for background/atmosphere.
If you could point me in the right direction, here are some ways I could see this working well for us:
- Hula dance with instruction/demonstration that gets the group involved (accompanied by live Ukulele performance?)
- Ukulele player who would be able to attend at the event for an hour+, ok with not being the central focus and/or kid friendly - willing to demonstrate or let kids touch instruments?
- Other suggestions I might not be aware of that have an interactive, family friendly vibe.
I have not yet been given a firm budget, but there would be compensation - perhaps if you have specific recommendations they could also provide a quote?
The event would take place in our center (downtown Ann Arbor - address is in my email signature), and we have a large open area that could be cleared of furniture for a possible dance space.
