The Coulee Croche Firefighters Association is excited to announce one of the most anticipated giveaways of the Louisiana Mosquito Festival! 🦟

We are raffling off an incredible prize lineup this year:

🥇 1st Place: Brand New Honda TRX420FPM ATV with winch & racks
🥈 2nd Place: $300
🥉 3rd Place: $200

🎟️ Only 200 tickets will be sold at $100 each — giving you GREAT odds. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

📅 Drawing will be held on September 26, 2026 at the Louisiana Mosquito Festival.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend, Mr. Ed Roy.

Mr. Ed was one of our incredible judges during our inaugural year, and we are truly grateful that he chose to be part of our very first festival. He brought joy, laughter, and genuine kindness with him — and of course, that unforgettable love of good food. We are thankful for the meals we shared, the stories he told, and the memories we now hold a little tighter.

Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and everyone in our community who knew and loved him. He made every room brighter and every moment more enjoyable just by being there.

Thank you, Mr. Ed, for blessing us with your time, your humor, and your generous spirit. You will be deeply missed. ❤️

On this Veterans Day, we honor the brave men and women whose service has protected the very freedoms that allow our communities to come together — to celebrate, to create memories, and to keep traditions alive.

The joy of a festival, the sound of music, the laughter of families, and the feeling of gathering as one — all of it is possible because of those who have stood watch for our country.

Today, we send our deepest gratitude to all Veterans and their families.

Anyone in the Coulee Croche and surrounding areas who would like to donate but can’t make it to Opelousas, Chief J. Menard has graciously offered to deliver donations on your behalf.
Donations can be dropped off at:
Coulee Croche Fire District No. 4 – Station 41
📍 189 Credeur Rd, Cankton, LA
⏰ Drop-off cutoff: 1800 hrs (6:00 PM)
This will allow Chief Menard time to load and deliver the items.
Coulee Croche Fire District No. 4 proudly serves not only the Coulee Croche area, but the St. Landry community as a whole.

Louisiana Mosquito Festival 2025 — what a day! 🚒🦟🔥

This day came together because of our people — the cook-off teams who showed up (21 of our 25 registered!), the great musicians who kept the beat, and our fire crew and families who put in the hours behind the scenes. That’s Louisiana pride through and through. 💪🔥

We’re grateful for everyone who came out, cooked, danced, donated, and supported the people always ready when the calls come in.
