Hi friends 💜

It’s been a while since we’ve been active on Facebook, but it’s time to get back to work.

Since our sweet Sophie passed, one of our main focuses has been fundraising for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Over the past few years, through various fundraising events, we’ve been honored to deliver hundreds of gifts to their Child Life and School Program and donate thousands of dollars to the Pediatric Oncology Resource Team (P.O.R.T.).

We’re excited to share that we’re currently planning our next fundraising event! Last year’s rummage sales were a huge success, so we’re doing it again. We’re planning a big Memorial Weekend rummage sale, and 100% of the proceeds will go directly toward purchasing gifts for the children at the hospital.

During her hospital stays, Sophie made hundreds of batches of slime, completed countless arts and crafts projects, and snuggled with many stuffed animals and dolls that were given to her along the way. Those gifts meant everything to her. They helped turn long, scary, and exhausting days into moments of comfort, creativity, and joy.

Our goal is to deliver the gifts around June 30th, the day Sophie would have turned 12. We would love to honor and celebrate her in a BIG way.

Starting next month, we’ll begin collecting donations for the rummage sale. If you’re doing spring cleaning and have items you’re looking to get rid of, please consider donating ❤️

🎃 Huge Thank You to the Cadillac Walmart! 🎃

We are incredibly grateful to the Cadillac Walmart for their generous donation of Halloween costumes for Spooky Sophie's Costume Boo-tique! Their huge box of costumes allowed us to restock several totes for next year’s giveaway, and thanks to their kindness, so many kids will be guaranteed costumes at our 2026 event. 💜🧡

Every costume donated—whether brand new or gently used—will be given completely free to those in need during our event. No questions asked.

💛 A huge THANK YOU to all the amazing vendors who were a part of making our event so much fun! Because of your participation and vendor fees, we were able to raise $1400 🙌

✨ $700 went directly to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital P.O.R.T. program, which provides incredible support to families, such as:

Care bags & sibling support bags

Family laundry room access

Snack pantry (inpatient & outpatient)

Blankets & Project Dream Room

Respite care

And the little touches that mean so much—good company, small surprises, and comfort in hard times. 💛

✨ $700 went right back into the event to cover the behind-the-scenes details that add up quickly—advertising, decorations, haunted house supplies, power cords, movie screen setup, and so much more. Every penny truly made a difference.

$431 for the Sophia Fund through Landing Dance Academy

$3233 for the Bailey Family from the auction

$700 for P.O.R.T.

$700 back into the event

That’s a total of $5064 raised together!! 🎉💛

Thank you so much to everyone who donated items to the auction and raffles for Colter, and thank you to everyone who came out to bid, donate, and support the family. With all of your generosity, we were able to raise $3,233 for the family. Absolutely every single penny matters and is deeply appreciated. 💛

When a child is battling cancer, it’s not just an emotional and physical fight—it’s also a financial one. Hospital stays, treatments, medications, travel back and forth, time away from work, and all the “extras” that no one ever plans for can become an overwhelming burden. The stress of finances is the last thing a family should have to worry about when their focus should be on their child.

That’s why your donations and support mean so much. Every auction item, every raffle ticket, every bid and every dollar makes a real difference in helping Colter’s family breathe a little easier during this unimaginable journey.

What touched us most was the way our community came together with open hearts to show this family they are not alone. In moments like these, it’s love, kindness, and unity that truly shine the brightest. Thank you for surrounding Colter and his family with so much hope, strength, and support. 💛🎗️

I wish I had thought to take before-and-after photos of our costume racks—because wow!! 👻🧙‍♀️ We started with at least 8 totes full of costumes for the kids barn giveaway, and by the end of the day… only ONE tote was left! 🎃✨

Our cauldrons are bubbling over with joy knowing so many little ghouls, goblins, and superheroes found their perfect costumes! 🕸️🦸‍♂️

Now the spooky cycle begins again… 🪄 We’re always brewing up our next collection of gently used and new costumes + accessories. If you have any lurking in your closets, keep us in mind—every costume helps make Halloween magic! 🦇🧡
