Hello Everyone!

Just two quick things before we officially wrap up this year's Cadillac Lions Medallion Hunt.

First, we once again want to say Thank You to ALL of our sponsors! Their generous support makes this event possible each and every year. Without them, the scholarships would not be possible, and the Medallion Hunt would not remain a FREE community event that everyone can enjoy.

2026 Cadillac Lions Medallion Hunt

Unlike Medallion Hunts in the past this location wasn’t a random choice, it was tied to the “real life” person who portrayed Captain “G” back in the 1970’s. He lived at this address under his “Secret Identity” so besides the graphic on the medallion this year this was also a way of honoring him. Making him more a part of the hunt!

Here are the clues!

Day 1
If you’re asking Peter directions he’ll tell you,
“this star to the right, and straight on till morning.”
Answer: Second (2nd Honey Locust Tree)

Day 2
If your merchandise is too “hot” to handle,
you might need to bring it to this guy to take it off your hands.
Answer: Fence (Chain link Fence around field)

Day 3
According to local “historical folklore”,
one Cadillac street still bears the name
of a man who helped bring law and order
to a booming lumber town.
Answer: Aldrich (Judge Fred H. Aldrich served as Circuit Judge for Michigan's 28th Judicial Circuit Wexford County District and lived in Cadillac)

Day 4
You might be having trouble figuring out these clues, but to the world’s greatest detective, my dear Watson, it would be this.
Answer: Elementary (Cass Elementary)

Day 5
This strange pairing makes shade on a warm day:
sweet, sticky, yellow fluid produced by bees from the nectar of flowers,
and a large migratory grasshopper that travels in massive swarms.
Answer: Honey Locust

Day 6
This is the symbol worn by a group of mutant superheroes.
Answer: X-Men (Circular Railroad crossing sign) and the inspiration to “Burry” the medallion this year. On every treasure hunt map what do you do when you come to the “X” you DIG! We did set it up more like a Geocache drop site then an actual dig making it easier.

Day 7
What year did “Captain G” first appear in Cadillac?
Answer: 71

Intended solution path
Second → Fence → Aldrich → Elementary → Honey Locust → X → 71
Leading hunters to:
• the former Cass Elementary/Aldrich area,
• the second Honey Locust tree from the corner,
• near the fence,
• by the X railroad crossing sign,
• and ultimately the 71 marker concealing the medallion.

We met with Trey Reid, his son Sutton, and his brother Trevor at the City Park by the Shay. After verifying the usual information, confirming they had their FREE eTickets, and having the Medallion placed in my hand, I added the Red, White & Blue ribbon before placing it around Trey's neck. I then presented him with the $300 fan of CASH, and Sutton received the 50% OFF Toy Town coupon.

Each day, they picked up their clues from Michigan Coffee or Primos BBQ. Today, however, they decided to get a jump on everyone by listening to 107.9 CDY from their car and hearing Clue #6 live at 8:00 AM.

Over the past few days, they searched around the back of the Cadillac Innovation High School for about three days. They also searched Diggins Hill, Franklin Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, and checked all of the Honey Locust trees in those areas.

When asked if they had plans for the money, Trey said it's probably going to the babysitter fund but no real plans. They're more excited about finding it and actually being right!

They walked me through day by day how they figured out the clues. I have to say, they did an excellent job!

Congratulations again to Trey Reid, Sutton, and Trevor on finding the 2026 Cadillac Lions Medallion! Your research, teamwork, and deductive skills paid off!

Snap your pic of the fully updated clue list by the door, then head straight in—you can’t miss it!

It might be a good idea to replenish some salt on these hot days, too. They have all kinds of chips and other salty snacks to choose from. Best part is, they’re portable!

Clue #6 was read this morning on 107.9 CDY and will soon be available at all four of our Clue Stop Locations, making this the first time in the 8-year history of the "Hunt" that SIX clues have been released and are available for you to review at the same time.

If needed, copies of the Official Rules and a City Search Map (the playing field) are also available at each location, along with a full-size color sticker of this year's Medallion (while supplies last). Show your sticker at Dairy Queen of Cadillac while the Medallion remains in play and receive 10% OFF your ice cream order!

Only 1 clue remains after today. The pieces should be coming together! Now let's see how good you are at putting them all together.
