Looking out the window on this cold snowy day and I thought what better time to spread the hopes of summer and warmer weather!

The question is who’s getting excite, who’s getting ready to go out for a walk and start searching for where the Cadillac Lions Medallion will be hidden this year? This year’s theme is a piece of our local history “Hometown Hero!

We give you “Captain G” Cadillacs only known at least to us costumed Superhero! He was the spokesperson for the newly renovated Giant/Giantway Plaza when it was built here in town in late 1971. He appeared on TV and in Newspaper ads for them as well as making personal appearances.

In this age of movie Superheroes we just wanted to remember and recognize a local, one of our own! If you’re a longtime resident you might remember him?

So what do you think about this year’s Medallion and who’s getting excited about going out to find it?

1) The total number of cards in a new unopened pack of Bicycle Standard Playing Cards, then remove only the rules card and then divide the remaining cards by two.

The Medallion was hidden @ 2705 Sunnyside Drive right cross the street from the old Drive-Thru Bank (Last known as Huntington first known as Cadillac State Bank.

It was in a Cypress tree kitty-corner to a red flag with a white fish skeleton on it behind Sun n Snow Ski Shop, out at Cadillac West in a Bird House with “SISTER BIRD” stamped on the front.

FYI: The bird house was placed by us in February and the entrance blocked with the rules card from Clue #1 we said “needed to be removed”. It was painted black and glued over the hole to keep it from being used this year. So, NO birds were disturbed!

OK, where were you looking, and who was close?

We met with Charity Grogan, daughter Zoë & her best friend Alex over at Michigan Coffee since our normal place the City Park is nuts right now and the Medallion was hidden out at Cadillac West. After verifying the usual information, the fact they had eTickets and getting the medallion placed in my hand, I added the Red, White & Blue ribbon to it then asked which of the 3 actually found it? I placed the Medallion around Charity’s neck and handed her the $300 CASH Prize; I gave the 50% OFF coupon @ Toy Town to her daughter Zoë.

They got the clues from listening to 107.9 CDY 8am then double checked getting them either at G&D Party Store or here at Michigan Coffee each day to take a picture before heading out to make sure they had the right wording.

Over the past few days they checked downtown, went over the map, crossed out where it had been and where they searched, went around the lake yesterday on bikes really in depth searching.

When asked if they had plans for the money Charity said she’s going to leave that a lot up to her daughter since she’s the one that did most of the work on this.

They walked me through day by day how they figured out the clues, I have to say they did an excellent job!

Congratulations again to Charity Grogan, daughter Zoë & her best friend Alex on finding the Cadillac Lions Medallion and your fantastic research and deductive skills!
