Some performances don’t feel “acted.” They feel lived in.
That’s what Tiffany Rexach is doing as Denise Savage in John Patrick Shanley’s Savage in Limbo at the Tom Kane Theatre.

In this new talkback clip with John Patrick Shanley, Tiff opens up about the vulnerability it took to step into Savage’s shoes. What comes through is something raw, fearless, and deeply human. She isn’t just playing a character. She’s excavating something real every single night on that stage.

From the second rehearsals began, it was obvious: She is the kind of actor directors dream about. Honest. Dangerous. Emotionally available. The kind of performer that can sit in silence and still command the room. The kind of actor that makes audiences lean forward.

Casting directors, filmmakers, theatre companies: pay attention.
If Tiff isn’t on your radar yet, you’re already late.

Her performance as Denise Savage has been one of the defining forces behind this production’s electricity, and watching her navigate Shanley’s language with this level of truth has been kind of staggering to witness.

This clip is beautiful because it gets at the heart of why theatre still matters. Vulnerability. Catharsis. Connection. The messy search for who we are underneath all the noise.

A simple question - maybe- but an amazing answer.

“How long does it take to write a play?
Three weeks… and a whole lifetime.”

John Patrick Shanley dropped one of the realest answers of the entire SAVAGE IN LIMBO talkback at the Tom Kane Theatre.

A reminder that the work isn’t just writing the thing.
It’s becoming the person ready to write it.

Questions. Courage. Clarity. Action.
That’s the job.

More treasures from our evening with the Pulitzer Prize and Oscar-winning playwright still to come.

One of the best parts of working on Savage in Limbo was getting to live inside the language and humanity of John Patrick Shanley’s writing.

In this clip, Meg, who gave an absolutely outstanding performance as April, talks about what makes Shanley’s work hit so hard: these characters feel real. Not heightened “theatre people.” Not caricatures. Real people with contradictions, rhythms, flaws, and hearts you instantly recognize.

That’s what made this production so special night after night. Audiences didn’t just watch these characters. They knew them. They’d met them before. Maybe they saw parts of themselves in them too.

What happened inside the Tom Kane Theatre during Savage in Limbo was something special.

Co-founder/ artistic director production Director and actor Anthony Marino reflects on Savage at the talkback

Every night, this cast uncovered something new.
New tension. New vulnerability. New humor. New heartbreak.

That’s the magic of live theatre. Nothing ever stays frozen. The work keeps breathing, evolving, deepening. And this cast never stopped digging deeper.

Working on John Patrick Shanley’s Savage in Limbo became one of those rare processes where every performance revealed something we hadn’t seen before. As a director, that’s the gift.

To everyone who packed the room, stayed after to talk, laughed with us, sat in silence with us, grabbed drinks at the bar, and became part of the energy of this run — thank you. You helped make this production unforgettable.

And to this cast and creative team: thank you for trusting the process and leaving it all on the stage night after night.
