Attention passengers, we are now boarding all rows for the flight to the Prairie Margin's book release party! Come take the trip with us and celebrate our release of the new issue! There will be an inflight meal, traveling to different countries, and a race to see who's jet is the fastest! Don't worry, we will provide you with the passports to travel to your heart's desire! Join us in Prout Chapel, tonight, Thursday 2/22, at 8:15pm after the Prout Common Reading time. We can't wait to fly with you! It's that time of year again, Blind Date with a Book is back for Valentine's Day! Our editors have been hard at work trying to make this a special occasion! Are you in need of the perfect gift for that certain someone who adores books? Do you want to treat yourself this Valentine's Day? Whatever your reason, we are here for you! We have a wide variety of books to choose from including a large collection that are perfect for the month of love! You can find us in the Union starting today, the 13th, until Thursday, the 15th. We will also be offering a bake sale, so don't miss out! We'll be there from 10 am - 1 pm each day!

This time on Meet the Editor, we have Melissa! Melissa is an amazing person and we are thrilled to have her! Penelope enjoyed helping her study for her finals, going to see an improv show, and going to Panera! Here are some fun facts about Melissa!

What is the most beautiful word you can think of?
A word that I find beautiful is “enthralling.” I just think it sounds majestic.

Favorite childhood book?
The first book I ever loved was Goodnight Moon. When I got a bit older, I enjoyed series like Junie B. Jones, the Magic Tree House, and Nancy Drew.

What’s the best costume you’ve ever worn on Halloween?
I once dressed up as my pet guinea pig. I don’t think anyone knew what I was supposed to be though.

You can talk to animals! What’s the first thing you do?
I would apologize to cats for avoiding them because of my allergies.

What Disney character would you want as your best friend?
Pretty much any of the newsboys from Newsies. They count, right?

This time on Meet The Editor, we are pleased to introduce you to Shay! Shay and Penelope enjoyed their time together by attending Shay's thesis reading at Prout, spending time in the office, enjoying a coffee break, hanging out with friends, and so much more! Here are some fun facts about Shay!

Fave movie line and from what movie?
"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die." (Princess Bride)

What is the most beautiful word you can think of?
Defenestrate, because it's fun to say and I love that there's even a word for what it means. (Definition: to throw someone out of a window)

Favorite childhood book?
Coraline, but if we're talking like "children" childhood book, then Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

What's the best costume you've ever worn on Halloween?
Taako (from TV)

Which element would you want to control as a superpower?
Fire

What Disney character would you want as your best friend? (animal sidekicks included)
Probably Moana in terms of who I'd want to hang out with the most, but Maleficent would also be pretty cool to befriend since she a) has some awesome powers and b) could grant me awesome powers as well.

❄️Welcome Back! We at Prairie Margins hope you all had a wonderful holiday break doing whatever makes you happy! “One year I went as a ghost--white sheet with eyes cut out. I was in elementary school, it was hot as hell, and I got a can of spagetti-os cause it was my birthday. (it was that or a sucker)”

🎃Looking for something spooky to do tonight? Look no further than Prairie Margins' annual Prout Chapel Halloween Party! This year, we will have activities such as pumpkin painting, bobbing for apples, and a scary story contest. As always, costumes are encouraged, and there will be prizes for the best ones.
