Nepal’s next Prime Minister B***ndra Shah (B***n) is not only a rapper. He is also a structural engineer, a PhD candidate, and the former mayor of Nepal’s capital city, Kathmandu.

Please do not identify him only as a rapper. Doing so overlooks his academic background, professional expertise, and public leadership. Nepal deserves to have its leaders represented with the full respect and context they have earned.

Nepali Community Celebrates Holi Festival in Texas

Holi, known as the Festival of Colors, is one of Nepal’s most celebrated festivals. Observed on the full moon day of the Nepali month of Fagu, it is celebrated over two days. This year, the festival falls on Monday and Tuesday. People, including tourists, mark the occasion by throwing colored powder and water at one another as a symbol of joy, unity, and goodwill.

On the occasion of Nepali Army Day, the U.S. Army band performed at Tundikhel in Kathmandu on Saturday. The musical presentation was held as part of longstanding military and diplomatic engagements maintained by the Nepali Army.

It is an annual tradition to invite military bands from the United Kingdom, the United States, and India for formal performances during Army Day celebrations. Recently, the Nepali Army also showcased its band in India during Indian Army Day, reflecting continued defense cooperation between the two nations.

नेपाली सेना दिवसको अवसरमा शनिबार संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिकाको सैनिक ब्याण्डले काठमाडौँको टुँडिखेलमा प्रस्तुति दिएको छ।

सैनिक दिवसका अवसरमा प्रत्येक वर्ष संयुक्त अधिराज्य, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका र भारतका सैनिक ब्याण्डलाई औपचारिक प्रस्तुतीका लागि निमन्त्रणा गर्ने परम्परा रहँदै आएको छ।

हालै नेपाली सेनाले पनि भारतमा भारतीय सेना दिवसका अवसरमा आफ्नो ब्याण्ड प्रस्तुति दिँदै द्विपक्षीय रक्षा सहकार्यलाई निरन्तरता दिएको थियो।

अमेरिकामा नेपालीसहित TPS धारकको भविष्य अन्योलमा, अपिल अदालतले ट्रम्प प्रशासनलाई कार्यक्रम अन्त्य गर्न बाटो खुला गर्‍यो

अमेरिकी अपिल अदालतले अस्थायी संरक्षित स्थिति (Temporary Protected Status–TPS) कार्यक्रम अन्त्य गर्ने ट्रम्प प्रशासनको निर्णयलाई अघि बढाउन अनुमति दिएको छ। यस निर्णयसँगै अमेरिकामा बसोबास गर्दै आएका हजारौँ नेपाली आप्रवासी निर्वासन (डिपोर्टेशन)को जोखिममा परेका छन्।

अन्दाजन ७ हजारभन्दा बढी नेपाली नागरिक TPS अन्तर्गत अमेरिकामा बस्दै आएका छन्। अदालतको पछिल्लो निर्णय कार्यान्वयन भएमा उनीहरूले छिट्टै आफ्नो कानुनी हैसियत गुमाउने र देशनिकाला सामना गर्नुपर्ने अवस्था आउन सक्नेछ।

नेशनल TPS एलायन्सका अनुसार नेपाल, होन्डुरस र निकारागुवाका करिब ६० हजार TPS धारकहरू लामो समयदेखि कानुनी रूपमा अमेरिकामा बसोबास गर्दै आएका छन्। होन्डुरस र निकारागुवाका नागरिकले करिब २६ वर्षदेखि तथा नेपालीहरूले करिब १० वर्षदेखि TPS मा निर्भर रहँदै जीवनयापन गर्दै आएका छन्।

अमेरिकी गृह सुरक्षा विभाग (Department of Homeland Security) ले होन्डुरस र निकारागुवाका TPS धारकहरूको कानुनी हैसियत र काम गर्ने अनुमति ६० दिनभित्र खारेज गरिने आदेश दिएको छ। नेपाली TPS धारकहरूको हैसियत भने गत वर्ष अगस्ट ५ बाटै समाप्त हुने तालिका तय गरिएको थियो।

यस निर्णयले हजारौँ आप्रवासी परिवारको भविष्य अन्योलमा पारिएको छ भने मानवअधिकार पक्षधरहरूले यसप्रति गम्भीर चिन्ता व्यक्त गरेका छन्।
