Richer is an aspiring, operatic soprano residing in New York City. Passionate about performing new works, Ms. Richer performed in a collaborative contemporary opera entitled The Art of Change under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Barrière in 2020. Her professional engagement includes Handel’s Messiah with Camerata New York under the baton of Richard Owen. She most recently was awarded the encourage
ment award from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions 2019. Richer will debut in the role of Donne Elvira (Don Giovanni) with Eurasia Festival’s Emerging Young Artist production in 2020. Following her season in New York, she will perform the role of Atalanta (Serse) with the Chautauqua Music Festival in the summer of 2020. In the 2018-2019 season, Ms. Richer performed as Olympia in the children’s opera, Pinocchio, as well as the chorus of her favorite opera, Eugene Onegin. In addition, Richer sang the role of Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with the Manhattan Opera Studio and debuted at Carnegie Hall. Richer performed with Harvard College Opera in the role of Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, as well as a young artist with Opera Steamboat where she performed the roles of Frantik/Cricket/Jay/Chicken in The Cunning Little Vixen. Richer is a 2018 graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music, and is a member of the National Music Society: Phi Kappa Lambda. In the 2017 season, she was a young artist with Opera in the Ozarks where Richer performed the role of Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk to thousands of children in Arkansas. Richer also sang in the chorus of Carmen and as a soloist in Le Nozze di Figaro (Amanti Costanti). She was a cover for Mabel in Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Gilbert and Sullivan Society’s production of The Pirates of Penzance. Richer’s professional engagement was with Odyssey Opera of Boston where she sang in the chorus of The Maid of New Orleans. In the 2015 season, Ms. Richer performed at the St. James Cathedral in Florence, Italy where she sang in Mozart’s La Clemenza Di Tito in the role of Annio, and in Mozart’s Cosi‘ Fan Tutte in the role of Dorabella. She was coached by Italian conductor Piergiorgio Del Nunzio while vocally coached by Grammy Award winner and Metropolitan Opera performer Benita Valente. Richer is currently obtaining her Master’s degree at the Mannes College of Music/The New School, under the tutelage of Amy Burton.
