Join us at District 7360’s Inaugural Youth Summit on March 28 in Bellefonte, PA to:
• Explore Rotary’s youth programs up close (RYLA, Youth Exchange, EarlyAct, Interact, Rotaract, ShelterBox, Public Image)
• Experience the Four-Way Test Speech Contest Finals
• Spend a fun, high-energy day with current and future Rotary leaders

🎓 Pottsville Rotary Honors January 2026 Students of the Month 🎓

The Rotary Club of Pottsville, Pa recognized six outstanding local students for their academic achievement, leadership, and community service during its January meeting.

👏 Congratulations to:
• Pottsville Area HS: Abby Heiser & Logan Strauss
• Minersville Area HS: Arianna John & Matthew Dube
• Nativity BVM HS: Andrew Smith & Chloe Covell

These students are making a difference in their schools and communities — and have bright futures ahead.

The Pottsville Rotary Club recognized its January 2026 Students of the Month at the Club’s weekly meeting on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Vito’s Coal Fired Restaurant in St. Clair.

Congratulations to the following students:

• Pottsville Area High School (PAHS): Abby Heiser and Logan Strauss
• Minersville Area High School (MAHS): Arianna John and Matthew Dube
• Nativity BVM High School (NBVM): Andrew Smith and Chloe Covell

POTTSVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL

Abby Heiser
Abby Heiser, daughter of Richard and Janice Heiser of Pottsville, is active in Drama Club, Sketch Club, Foreign Language Club, National Honor Society, and French Honor Society. She also volunteers through various school clubs. After graduation, Abby plans to attend Kutztown University and pursue a career as a scientific illustrator.

Logan Strauss
Logan Strauss, son of Paul and Amy Strauss of St. Clair, is a member of the Swim and Dive Team and the Foreign Language Club. He volunteers as a youth swim team coach.
Logan plans to attend a four-year university and earn a master’s degree while pursuing a career as a chemical engineer.

MINERSVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL

Arianna John
Arianna John, daughter of Beth John of Minersville, serves as Captain of the Volleyball Team, President of Student Council, Treasurer of Spanish Club, and Parliamentarian of STEM Club. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Track and Field Team.

Her volunteer work includes participating in a Christmas card exchange with local nursing homes and volunteering with MAYSC and MAYB. Arianna plans to attend a four-year university to study Civil Engineering.

Matthew Dube
Matthew Dube, son of Jen and Jim Dube of Minersville, is involved in Youth Summit, Student Council, SADD, National Honor Society, and Interact Club.

Matthew has volunteered by placing flags and wreaths on veterans’ graves, assisting with the Go Joe 16 Minersville Event, participating in the MASD Christmas toy and gift program, and helping with the Minersville Area Youth Basketball Tournament. He plans to continue his education at the University of Louisville, where he will study biology.

NATIVITY BVM HIGH SCHOOL

Andrew Smith
Andrew Smith, son of Susan Smith of Pottsville, serves as Senior Class President, Varsity Golf Captain, and Yearbook Editor. He is also involved in the Academic Team, Evangelization Team, Interact Club, and Math Club.

Andrew volunteers with the Red Cross, participating in clothing and food drives. He plans to attend a four-year university to study Chemical Engineering on a pre-law track, to become a patent lawyer.

Chloe Covell
Chloe Covell, daughter of Renee and Craig Covell of Schuylkill Haven, serves as Student Council Treasurer and is active in Softball, Volleyball, Chorus, Music Ministry, Band, Youth Summit, Interact, Aevidum, and the National Youth Advisory Board.

Her volunteer work includes serving as a Girls on the Run Junior Coach, participating in Schuylkill Connects programs, and supporting community service initiatives such as Stuff the Bus. Chloe plans to attend Duquesne University in the dual-degree business and law (3+3) program and pursue a career as a corporate attorney.
