The Friends of the Historic Masonic Temple are hosting the first annual Wizard Fest: A Harry Potter Fan Festival in Bay City, Michigan this fall. The wizarding weekend begins Friday night (September 11, 2015) with a 7:00 P.M. showing of Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone at Bay City’s Historic State Theatre for only $5 admission. On Saturday (September 12, 2015) the Historic Masonic Temple School
of Magic & Wizardry will be open from 10:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. with free admission. Planned activities include:
· Wizard’s Market
· Magicians
· Children’s games
· Crafts and Activities at Wirt Public Library 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
· Scavenger Hunt at Bay County Historical Museum and throughout downtown Bay City
· Entertainment and activities throughout downtown Bay City
· Herbology Classes at the Historic Trombley House
· Magic Trolley by Bay Metro
Saturday evening the fun continues with the Wizard’s Ball; an enchanting party under the stars in the Temple School of Magic & Wizardry’s Great Hall from 7:00 P.M. - 11:00 P.M. The Wizard’s Ball will include a live DJ with music and entertainment, spectacular lighting and atmosphere, silent auction, door prizes, costume contest, 21+ years old section, and a stand-up comedian. Tickets for entry to the Wizard’s Ball are $10. The weekend will conclude with a Harry Potter film festival on Sunday (September 13, 2015) at the Bay City Historic State Theatre. The films begin at 2:00 P.M. with Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone, followed by Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets. Tickets will be $8 per person for the double feature. All proceeds will be benefiting the Friends of the Historic Masonic Temple to help pay for replacing the roof, building operations, and future projects which include improving accessibility-as the building is currently not handicap accessible.
