A huge thank you to Adobe for their support of Cine Las Americas 💛

Adobe has been a supporter of our work to uplift filmmakers and expand access to culturally rooted storytelling. This May, their staff also rolled up their sleeves and volunteered at our Emergente Youth International Film Festival, spending the day alongside our young filmmakers.

Support like this helps us keep building spaces where Latine/x and Indigenous stories and storytellers can thrive.

This summer, students from Northeast Austin joined Cine Las Americas’ El Club de Clout program to celebrate and share their own stories by learning a variety of new video tools and resources. We were proud to present this program in partnership with Equidad ATX and Turner-Roberts Recreation Center.

When asked what they learned or gained, here's what students had to say!

“Mapping out your movement or planning something before you shoot” 📝

“How to not be scared, talk to people, and to make new friends” 💓

Yesterday, Austin Council Member Council Member Natasha Harper-Madison read a proclamation honoring 2026 Grant for Technology Opportunities Program ( ) awardees, and Cine Las Americas is proud to be among this year’s GTOPs Mini recipients!

For almost 30 years, our festival has gathered film materials, much of which lives in boxes, hard drives, and digital files. This grant helps us begin changing that. We’ll organize and prepare materials for online access and expand our website so community members can explore past festival films, filmmaker conversations, and other educational media year-round, not just during festival season.

Thank you to the City of Austin Government and everyone who continues to champion digital access and equity in our community!

We're excited to join more than three dozen Austin arts organizations at the 6th Annual Austin Arts Mixer, hosted by the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce Art Committee in partnership with KMFA Classical 89.5. Come find our table, say hello, and hear what we have planned for our next season. It's a great chance to connect with fellow arts lovers and discover what's coming up across the Austin arts scene.

This past weekend, Austin Film Society hosted a screening of LA CAUSA, presented by American Short Fiction, and Cine Las Americas was glad to help spread the word to bring our communities together.

Director Andrés Figueredo Thomson and writer Alejandro Puyana joined us for a conversation after the film, exploring different ways of telling Venezuela's story through documentary and fiction. It was a gift to have them both in the room. 🇻🇪

Thank you to everyone who came out to watch and ask questions. This is just the start of our summer screenings with AFS Cinema. Next up:

This was one of those films that reminded us why the screen still matters. ASCO: Without Permission brought us into the world of LA Chicanx artists whose fearless creativity challenged expectations and inspired the next generation of artists.

CLA Associate Director Giselle De La Rosa sat down with ASCO Associate Producer and Professor of Art Dr. C. Ondine Chavoya for a Q&A exploring what it means to claim space through art. Also pictured is Gabriel Ornelas Executive Director, who connected with folks in the lobby before the show.
