We keep saying we are going to sit down and sign contracts, but we conveniently find other things to do. Today we listened (because it wasn’t on tv in our county….MFers) the Raiders pull off another heart attack inducing win. I steam cleaned the living room carpet (I did it earlier in the week too….we have a senile beagle who, frequently doesn’t make it outside, but, who…or is it whom…we love very much), I watched part of the Broncos vs Chargers game. We watched four episodes of Supernatural. MFP says we can’t just sit on the couch watching tv….tell my arthritic, hate the fu***ng cold joints that, so we agreed, we will sign contracts. We have decided to use Blessed Beyond Belief Photography (thank you Melissa Warner for the referral). We are using Olive & Emerald for our ‘save the date’ and the invitations. And we are using SLO Party Rentals for tables, chairs, place settings…… Yeah, yeah, we know we still have lots to do.
Last spring when we decided on 8/13/22:
1) we hoped it would allow enough time, and the people would be smart enough, for this whole COVID thing to be behind us…..nope. You can offer a vaccine but you can’t fix….
2) we thought it would give us plenty of time to get the ‘place’ ready….we are starting to get a little worried
3) it seemed soooo far away……but now it’s less than seven and a half months. I’m sure he proposed just a couple weeks ago, but it’s been ten and a half months. Pretty sure seven and a half months is tomorrow. 😳😳😳😳😳😳

I'm pretty sure we are going with Slo PartyRentals. I know you will think I'm crazy, but I'm going to take care of the food. It's the easiest way to guarantee excellent vegan food. Juju Edwards, my lifelong friend who is local, will be doing our wedding cake. Randell Jones and I have both used Siegel's Paso Robles for the rings. We will find a local photographer. About the flowers.... Maybe it's seasonal depression, but I don't want to go out, let alone spend hours at different florists getting quotes, so I'm thinking of using this company:

This stunning brides bouquet is round bouquet with plum roses with diamond centers, dark purple calla lilies and babies breath. This bouquet is approx 12 inches wide

I know it's been awhile. Randell and I are doing well and hope you all are too. We have been busy working out details and going to party rental places. Our garden was quite bountiful so we spent the summer making and canning pickles, salsa, tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, lasagna sauce, MVP (maple, vanilla peach) jam and jalapeno peach jam. Ermergherd, the jalapeno peach is so good I won't let anyone else have any. We also tried to attend several of the local summer concert series. I started on line classes to try and finish my bachelor's degree. Why not....my employer is paying for it and I can't keep up the real physical work for too much longer because it's breaking down my body and I'm just not capable of not working as hard as I can at work no matter how my body is doing. I have been downloading pictures of flowers and bouquets and will be starting to get floral bids. We aren't going to have a videographer. I just don't need to watch a video of myself. We understand the photographer is going to be pricy and we will start getting bids the beginning of the year. We also have enlisted the help of a local artist to do our 'save the date', wedding invitations and after party invitations. The dress...I saw one I really liked online but my oldest daughter doesn't think it's the best style for my body type, so I guess I will start to shop for a dress after the beginning of the year as well. I will try to keep you all updated. There will be an additional post today. It might be a little unsettling. You can decide for yourself. TTFN

We are going to try our best to work out a group discount rate at The Holiday Inn Express on West Front Road in Atascadero. It is less than a mile from the 'location'. We have decided we are going to hire a limo from about 4:30 pm until about 12:30 am the day of the 'event'. The purpose of the limo will be to pick up from and return 'event' guests to the hotel. There isn't a great deal of parking available at the 'location' so this would save 'event' guests from having to park creatively and hoof it to the 'location' AND it should eliminate the need for DD's for "event' guests staying at the hotel.
Who would be interested in staying and/or would need to stay at the hotel? It's easier to discuss group rates when the size of the group is known....

There are several of my friends and acquaintances I would love to give the opportunity to share our ceremony with but perhaps it’s just not feasible due to distances and limited capacity. I’m curious who would be interested in getting to watch via zoom? I’m trying to determine if it’s worth doing. Please let me know what you think.

I’m wondering what everyone thinks of an ‘after the wedding’ party? There are people I want to party with that night who aren’t going to make the limited wedding list. I was thinking after the cake, when the partying really starts. Say 8ish. Ceremony at 5:30, food at 6:30, cake 7:15, music and obnoxious partying at 8. Or would it be rude to invite them to party after the wedding when they weren’t invited to the wedding? Weddings and parties required a different amount of space. To seat people for a wedding and dinner requires more room, where standing around drinking, dancing, partying and intermittently sitting takes up less room. Seriously, I would like some feedback on this.
