Choy Wun Lion Dance Troupe is a Northern Virginia-based dance group comprised of working professionals dedicated to promoting the treasure of tradition and spreading cultural awareness in the DC, MD, and VA (DMV) community through Chinese cultural dance and performance arts, particularly the Lion Dance.

As we reflect on Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, we would like to honor and remember the life of a local philanthropist, Rose Chen 🌹

Rose eagerly reached out to our troupe to perform at Virginia Museum of Fine Arts ChinaFest years ago…and ever since, it has been one of our most engaging events with the community!

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to continue her legacy by showcasing Chinese art through lion dance. The lion collars were dedicated to β€œThe Rose Group”, which focuses on promoting multiculturalism and harmonizing different cultures. 🎏

Together, we celebrate and recognize the AANHPI community in our DMV community and beyond πŸ’›
