Home safe and happy, reflecting on the performances from all of the bands. Some of these bands I have seen dozens of times, and still, I was not prepared for these incredible, inspired performances. I think this is partly due to the welcoming environment of Pine View Campground and our wonderful hosts Brian Bentley and Shanna Bentley, and partly due to the comradery among the bands. The weather was better than we could have hoped for, and we had very few hiccups, and those were dealt with easily. All in all a great weekend of music.

Festival morning report: minimal sleep, maximum smiles, and absolutely no regrets. Last night set the bar high. Great music, great people, and that subtle magic that appears when everything comes together. Excited for another day.

We are on site setting up the stage and performance area. Those with reserved campsites and performers can arrive at any time. For everyone else we will open the gate sometime between 1:00 and 2:00 this afternoon.

Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome at the festival. However, dogs will not be permitted inside the Club House, which serves as our indoor performance space.
We plan to keep the large doors open during performances so the music can still be enjoyed from the Club House “front lawn,” where dogs are welcome.

With just six days until the start of the event, I figured it's time for an update.

1. We will have tickets available at the gate. The gate prices will be $50 for single day passes, $90 for weekend passes.

2. You still have a few days to save some money by purchasing tickets online. We will probably shut down the ticketing site late Wednesday or early Thursday.

3. Primitive camping is included in the ticket price, but if you want an electric campsite or a full-hookup RV site, contact the campground directly at 815-857-3964.

4. The music starts at 6:45 on Friday. Our gate will be open around 2:00 to give you time to set up your campsite.

5. The weather forecast has improved over the last couple of days. It looks to be a nice weekend, with temps reaching 80 on Saturday and overnight lows around 60. Dress appropriately and remember there is a small lake for swimming.

We like to position these festivals as safe, family-friendly events, but we have to acknowledge that we booked Bassamp and Dano.

If you are not familiar, this St Louis-based punk band is loud, crass, and definitely NSFW. You will hear some F-bombs from the stage, and worse. But please keep in mind that these guys are, at heart, good citizens and talented musicians. Their show is a comedy review, the modern, foul-mouthed version of Spike Jones (do a Google search).

Picture the Smothers Brothers if they were tattooed punk rockers shooting off confetti cannons and shooting whiskey from a squirt-gun.
