Travis Lee Lohmeyer, 40, of Alma, Kansas, died Tuesday June 24, 2014. He was a resident of the Alma community since 2000, following a move from Topeka. Travis was born Aug. 15, 1973, in Clay Center, Kansas, the son of Randy and LaBerta (Cairns) Lohmeyer. He furthered his education at Cloud County Community College and Washburn University, graduating with a Physical Education degree. He married Lis

a Kay Turk on Jan. 7, 1995, in Greenleaf, Kansas. Travis worked for over ten years as a carrier for Fed-Ex, driving mostly in the Manhattan area. Prior to that, he worked for Ed Marlin’s Furniture in Topeka and a short time in management at the Manhattan Target store. Anything sports was Travis’ passion; he enjoyed playing as much as watching. Travis coached various local youth teams in baseball, basketball, softball, and football. He was an umpire and enjoyed playing coed softball with his wife, Lisa. Travis is survived by his wife, Lisa; his children, Hailey, McKenzie, Alyssa, and Tyler Lohmeyer, all of the home; his parents Randy and LaBerta Lohmeyer, Wamego; his brother, Troy Lohmeyer (Tempe), Thornton, Colorado; in-laws, Doris and Harlan Turk, Waterville; sisters-in-law, LaShelle Beikmann (Jeff) and Sherry Wiese (Jeff), both of Linn; brothers-in-law, Greg Cooney, and Brian Turk (Jessica), both of Barnes; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, June 30 at St. John Lutheran Church in Alma with Rev. Tim Lorenz and Rev. Robert Grimm officiating. Burial followed at Alma City Cemetery.
