Late lunch business meeting. Tía-Mom's Cocina and Boofy's Best For Pets are already starting to plan this year's Howl and Growl for Sunday, October 25th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Costume contests for all well-behaved animals and humans of ALL ages. Raffle prizes, vendors, and of course fundraising for several local NON-PROFIT rescues and community organizations.

Bonus: Tía Mom's Cocina will be selling one of our most ordered vegan Mexican Brunch Burritos and our number one signature confection..... S**T BALLS !!!! ALL PROFITS FROM BURRITO AND S**T BALL SALES WILL BE ADDED TO THE $$$ POT TO BE SHARED BETWEEN THE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.

Today's late lunch was a Thai satay tofu with seasoned organic brown jasmine rice, and a salad with romaine lettuce, baby spinach, Cosmic apples, snap peas, cucumbers, tomatoes, with a Green Goddess dressing.

Can't make my morning iced latte withoit being attacked by several oat milk loving cats in this house. It must be served frothed, too.

We are vegan. Our cats are NOT vegan. They are obligate carnivores, but they still know what tastes good. Cats aren't dumb.

We assisted in 2015 with a TNR trapping project in an apartment complex over on the Westside. I just couldn't let this one return back to the streets. She was just a baby and wasn't feral. So had her spayed, vaccinated etc and then brought into their adoption program. We fostered her and then adopted her. She bonded to Midas and we couldn't separate them, so we adopted Midas, too. She's living her best life, spoiled rotten....obviously.

We haven't reopened yet, but we couldn't let Sterling, Sterling “TrapKing” Davis, leave town without a few dozen of our award winning, most ordered and everyone's favorite cookie, our GFV Pecan Mexican Wedding Cookies. The original recipe was our Great Grandma's, but we updated her recipe by recreating these amazingly addicting cookies vegan.

Free gifts that keep on giving, over and over and over again!

Thanks to a family in our local area Buy Nothing group, we were able to secure a large basket of children's books that are in great condition to donate to Boofy's Best for Pets Boofy's Best for Pets last night.

Did you know that B2 even had a free library inside their store? Take a book, leave a book. Take a book and gift it or read it and there's no need to return it if you want to keep it. No longer need it, bring it back or drop it off in someone else's free library. They are all over town.

Do you have a bunch of books, or even cookbooks too, that you would like donated to a free library? We can help you find one in your area or if we are available we are willing to meet you and we will sprinkle our book fairy goodness all over town.

The senior rec centers and skilled nursing/long term care facilities love to receive books and magazines for their patients. Trust me, I know. I spent over 6 months this year in one for OT PT therapy and nursing care from the accident last December 30th.

We aren't ready to open yet, but we are still doing community volunteer work in the background. Don't forget about the almost $2,000 that was raised for 6 animal non-profit organizations at Howl & Growl this year with a totally unplanned, unexpected, winter shave fundraiser at HAG. Mama Shay and Lisa (one of Boofy's owners) shaved their heads for cancer. One of Lisa's kitties, Carol Brown, had just passed away from cancer. Plus, my pop's had prostate cancer when he recently passed away. It wasn't what killed him, but it sure AF didn't help his other conditions that led to his death.

We just wanted to say hello and send our love to the Tía-Mom's Cocina and Boofy's Best For Pets familias and to those that reached out while I've been down and out for a year. No clue on a time frame of reopening, but I gotta heal and function before that's even considered.

Happy Holidays no matter what holiday you do or don't celebrate. Please always choose compassion before anger. Understanding before accusing. Help others when possible, whether people are looking or not, and without expecting blessings or good karma in return. Just be a kinder human to all living creatures.
