Next up, we have a speaker who bridges the gap between European and East Asian perspectives. Let’s welcome Anette!

🔸 About her
Anette Luo is a German educator with a background in Sinology and a Master’s in Global Communication. Having spent over six years living across China and Taiwan, she is fascinated by how language mirrors cultural values. Currently a German lecturer at Fu Jen Catholic University, she also runs the creative Instagram project , where she and her students explore the fascinating cultural nuances between Taiwan and Germany.

Ever felt like something was "lost in translation" when dealing with German communication styles? This is more than a talk—it’s a practical workshop! Anette will guide participants through real-life examples and interactive role plays to navigate professional hurdles. You'll learn how to handle misunderstandings and communicate with clarity and confidence in a German-speaking environment.

Lee, Fu-lan is a Mandarin teacher from Taiwan with a deep passion for both learning languages and reflecting on the pedagogical process. She has experience teaching Chinese to learners from all corners of the globe and thrives on exchanging cultural insights with fellow language enthusiasts.

How does being a student change the way you teach? In this talk, Fu-lan reflects on how her journey with English, Polish, and Spanish—learned across different contexts and strategies—reshaped her approach to teaching Mandarin.
