Event organizers have officially announced the longest running Club Rugby 7s Tournament in the region will be returning to Tobago this year, after successful stints in Trinidad, Barbados, and Grenada.

As one of rugby’s most popular international events, and with a 30-year legacy of contributing positively to the development of the sport in the region, the newly named Tobago International Rugby Sevens Tournament (TIRST) is set to take place from 4-5 December 2026 at the Dwight Yorke Stadium.

The Tournament is known for attracting some of the world’s best Men’s and Women’s Elite 7s teams, and this year will again be expanded to include Men’s and Women’s Social 7s divisions.

An exciting weeklong event schedule will complement the on-field action, uniquely combining sports, socializing, destination discovery, and charitable initiatives.

Teams from the USA, UK, Canada, and the Caribbean have already expressed their interest to participate this year.

As the latest iteration of the highly anticipated annual Tournament, TIRST will continue to break new ground in the Caribbean by strengthening the synergy between sports, tourism, and entertainment, and will provide teams, officials, and spectators with an unforgettable event experience, sure to appeal to both locals and visitors alike.
