What makes a good local?

Since 2020, Foxtail has been serving up quality Mezcal-based tipples along Keong Saik Rd, all while building a community that feels more like a family. Case in point – they’ve hosted at least three weddings, countless birthdays, and any other life milestone you can think of in their cozy space.

Frequently listed as one of Singapore’s top rooftop bars, there’s something about the unpretentious and inviting vibe of the place that makes it feel like home. Polaroids on the wall, friendly staff, and tasty cocktails that don’t break the bank.

Whether you’re a Keong Saik native or just passing through, Foxtail is worth more than just a peek.

Tucked between indie cafes and heritage shophouses, the Zhun Ti Gong Temple is one of Keong Saik’s quietest treasures.

Built in 1928, this small but striking temple is dedicated to Cundi, the 18-armed Buddhist deity of compassion and spiritual power. Once popular with Cantonese 𝘮𝘢𝘫𝘪𝘦 (domestic workers) in the early 19th century, it remains a serene refuge with ornate carvings, colourful roof tiles, and beautiful Nanyang architecture.

Take a walk down Keong Saik Rd and it’s impossible to miss the striking Sri Layan Sithi Vinayagar Temple. Did you know 2025 marks its 100th year since construction?

Established way back in 1925 by the South Indian Labourers’ Association, the temple was dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Ganesha. It remains a cultural hotspot today. Beyond being a home for daily worship, the temple plays a central role in Hindu festivals such as Chetty Pusam, during which it serves as an important ceremonial stop in the festival’s colourful procession.

Planted right in the heart of the city, it’s a poignant reminder of the cultural melting pot that is Singapore.
