WHAT THE FISH? Declining catches, destruction of the marine environment, competition from larger vessels – small-scale fishermen from developing countries face growing challenges today. Yet, their livelihoods are crucial for their communities. Can you solve the problem of sustainable fishing? Launched in 2014, Fishackathon is a computer coding and technology intensive competition that brings toget
her developers, designers, project managers and subject matter experts to create applications, systems and tools for sustainable fishery issues. Each year, participants are tasked to tackle different problem statements released only during the hackathon. In partnership with the United States Department of State, Singapore is one of the global hosts for Fishackathon 2016. Come incite a change in our fishing industry today! THE CATCH
The winning team will compete with other global winning teams. The final winning team will walk away with US$10,000 cash AND US$25,000 seed grant to develop their winning app. Singapore Institute of Technology is proud to be one of the global hosts for Fishackathon 2016!
