Asian Festival of Children's Content

Asian Festival of Children's Content AFCC is the leading festival in Asia for children’s stories and young adult (YA) fiction. It will thereby lay the foundation for a good and all-round education.
(1)

Over a billion children in Asia lack good resources, both for their education and entertainment. Those who have the means and the access, benefit from a wide selection of edutainment material available from the West. Asian material, even those available, is seldom promoted and is therefore left unexplored. Bringing quality Asian content to children is paramount as it would make children aware of A

sia’s unique environment and cultural values, promote understanding of, and love for, the literary and visual arts.

"Napakalawak ng children's literature."

Christopher Asa of Towfee Book Publishing House left Day 1 of with that realization, and a clearer picture of what it means for Filipino publishers like him.

From insights on making books more compelling for young readers to the opportunities waiting to be seized in children's content across Asia, Christopher came to Singapore ready to learn and is heading home with more than he expected.

Salamat sa tiwala, Christopher! This is exactly what these opportunities are for.

Angela B. Napeñas had a straightforward reason for exploring animal stories and biodiversity in children's literature: these stories exist, but mostly inside classrooms. She wants them outside.

Angela made that case at , speaking to how the stories we give children about animals and the natural world can determine whether the next generation grows up as passive observers or active stewards of it. Her message was clear—the Philippines has no shortage of stories to tell, and events like this one exist precisely so those stories reach beyond our shores and into conversations that matter globally.

Filipino children's book illustrator and visual artist Kristin Garanchon came to Singapore with something to prove, not for herself, but for every Filipino creator who has ever wondered whether their stories are ready for the world.

For Kristin, showing up at an international festival isn't just about visibility. It's a declaration that Philippine culture has the depth, richness, and creative range to speak to children across Asia and beyond. And if you happen to be in Singapore right now, Filipino or not, she has a personal invitation for you: come see for yourself!
