Saudi Water Authority won Net Zero Carbon Project of the Year at the Asian Water Awards 2025 for its Shuaiba Phase-1 project (Replacement of Ended Life Time Technologies and Assets for Shuaiba Phase-1 Desalination plant), which produces 600,000 m³/day of water with record-low energy use.

The Authority also received the Renewable Water Energy Innovation Award - Saudi Arabia for its 55 MW solar photovoltaic project in Al Jubail, which powers the city’s large-scale desalination plant.
