OVERLOAD airsoft & milsim EVENT

OVERLOAD airsoft & milsim EVENT OVERLOAD ® airsoft sports event. We are the Overload Crew. We organize, annually, the OVERLOAD ® airsoft sports event. Overload Crew is a dynamic team. Overload 1.

Under the same designation we initiate, organize and coordinate a number of actions and campaigns bearing social, sporting and cultural significance in our region of activity, whereas our command center is located in Sibiu. Since this field comprises both a sport and a hobby, the involvement is unsolicited, by voluntary action, for that specific period of time considered purposeful by each member for himself/herself. Over time, several airsoft players were part of the team, we had occasional sponsors and collaborators from outside the airsoft world and we have always been supported by our partners, already establishing tradition. During April and May 2011 we organized our first two pilot-events in our already established location – the operations Tormenta Blanca and Rio de Sangre which brought together over 50 and over 80 players from our region, respectively. They enjoyed fictional scenarios, derived from the war between the drug cartels and the governments of the Latin American countries. The success of our own events and the experience of participating in international events have encouraged us to open in the autumn of the year 2011 the series of events under the title OVERLOAD ®. The name directly points at the significant physical and psychological effort required of the airsoft and milsim players. The organizational context was covered by the players well-known from the base headquarters and those who got massively involved in all events, starting with logistics activities and up to registration, check-in, chronographing and technical support. To their aid there came fellows who dedicated their spare time sporadically, but also in key –moments, having thus a significant impact on the quality of the organizing process. Together we have organized

2011. Operation Stand-Off with the attendance of over 110 players

2012. Overload 2. Operation Chosen Path with the attendance of over 170 players

2013. Overload 3. Operation Stormfront with the attendance of over 250 players

2014. Overload 4. Operation Swordbreaker with the attendance of over 330 players

2015. Overload 5. Operation Final Stand with the attendance of over 470 players

2016. Overload 6. Operation Battle Of The Red Gorge with the attendance of over 490 players

Overload 2018. Operation Dawn to The Iron Beast with the attendance of 420 players - Invite only event

Overload 2019. Operation Shadow Gambit with the attendance of 420 players - Invite only event

Overload Crew has now achieved a first level of organizational maturity and we are ready for the next step. In 2023 we invite you to Overload Operation Turning Point

In the same place. With the same organizing team. With an even better event!

What does ChatGPT say about OVERLOAD?
**OVERLOAD** is much more than a normal ai***ft game. Think of it as a combination of **ai***ft, Milsim, military-style operations, hiking, role-playing, and a continuous 30–40 hour scenario**.

At the 2026 edition, the game ran from Friday at 12:00 until Sunday at 02:00, with operations continuing through the night. Players were required to be actively involved for a minimum amount of time and followed rotations organized by their HQ.

# # # What does a typical mission feel like?

Imagine this:

1. **You receive an order from HQ.**
Your squad is told to move to a certain location and accomplish an objective.

2. **You move through the forest.**
You might walk for 30–60 minutes without seeing the enemy. You stay together, communicate over radio and try to remain tactically aware.

3. **Suddenly, contact.**
A few shots are fired. Everyone takes cover. Radio traffic starts immediately.

4. **Someone gets hit.**
Depending on the game mechanics, the casualty may require a medic or another procedure. You can't simply respawn instantly and run back into the fight.

5. **The mission continues.**
You may still have to reach the objective, retrieve something, es**rt someone, or report information to HQ.

That's what makes Overload different from regular weekend ai***ft: **the firefight is only one part of the experience.**

---

# # The nights are a completely different experience

This is probably one of the most memorable aspects.

You're in the forest at 1–2 AM. It's dark, you're tired, and visibility is extremely limited.

You hear something in the bushes.

Nobody knows whether it's:

* another patrol;
* an enemy squad;
* a civilian;
* or absolutely nothing.

And because you have been walking and operating for hours, your brain starts playing tricks on you. 😄

Night operations require much more discipline and teamwork than daytime games.

---

# # Am******on matters

Overload isn't really about spraying hundreds of BBs.

For the 2026 edition, **high-cap magazines were prohibited**, and am******on capacity/reloading was controlled by the rules.

That changes the way you play.

Instead of:

> "I see movement — SHOOT!"

you start thinking:

> "Is that actually the enemy? Do I need to shoot? Where are my teammates? Can we get closer? If I shoot, will I reveal our position?"

A short burst can give away the location of your entire squad.

---

# # The terrain is a major part of the game

The Mârșa site is not simply a clean, purpose-built ai***ft field.

The terrain includes **forest, elevation changes, abandoned buildings, channels, holes and areas containing broken glass or metal debris**.

So you're constantly doing some combination of:

**walking → climbing → crawling → waiting → observing → moving → fighting → carrying equipment → moving again.**

And you're doing it while wearing your tactical gear and carrying:

* r***e;
* magazines;
* water;
* radio;
* batteries;
* flashlight;
* food;
* medical supplies;
* rain gear;
* sleeping/camping equipment.

After 10–15 hours, you definitely start feeling the weight.

---

# # It's also about role-playing

Overload isn't simply:

**Team A vs. Team B → shoot everyone.**

There are factions, civilians, objectives, intelligence, missions and interactions.

For example, your squad might receive information from a civilian:

> "The enemy passed through this area."

But is the information true?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

Maybe it's a trap.

That's where the **Milsim/role-playing side** becomes really interesting.

---

# # Being a good shooter isn't enough

You can have:

* an expensive r***e;
* excellent shooting skills;
* fantastic tactical gear;

and still be a mediocre Overload player.

Someone who can:

* communicate clearly;
* stay with the squad;
* navigate;
* observe;
* follow orders;
* conserve am******on;
* stay calm under pressure;

can be much more valuable.

**Teamwork is far more important than simply being a good shot.**

---

# # What happens when you're not fighting?

This is another important difference.

It's not:

**fight → respawn → fight → respawn → break.**

You can spend significant periods:

* patrolling;
* guarding an objective;
* waiting;
* gathering intelligence;
* transporting equipment;
* searching for an objective;
* receiving new orders;
* reorganizing your squad;
* eating;
* sleeping when your rotation allows it.

And that's actually what makes the firefights more exciting.

After you've spent an hour walking around without seeing anyone, suddenly hearing:

> "CONTACT FRONT!"

hits very differently.
---

# How difficult is it?
| Aspect | Difficulty |
| ------------------ | ---------- |
| Shooting | ⭐⭐ |
| Tactics | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Navigation | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Physical endurance | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Sleep deprivation | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Logistics | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Teamwork | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Night operations | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |

**The hardest part isn't shooting.**

The hardest part is being functional after you've been outside for many hours, you're tired, you've slept very little, you're wet or uncomfortable, and someone comes over the radio:

> "Alpha team, get ready. We're moving now."
And you have to get up and go. 😄

---

# # Who is Overload really for?

If you enjoy: ai***ft + military atmosphere + forests + radios + tactics + teamwork + night operations + long missions + camping**, you'll probably love it.

If you prefer: 2–3 hours of ai***ft, lots of shooting, then going home for a shower and a comfortable bed**, Overload might be a bit brutal. 😄
The organizers themselves emphasize preparation, individual medical equipment, safety and the difficulties associated with the terrain and night operations.
