Já passaste pela Praça Gil Eanes e f**aste a pensar na sua história? Ou porque é que a Casa Verde é, afinal, verde? E sobre o que Lagos tem para oferecer além das suas praias fantásticas?

Junta-te a nós para uma caminhada descontraída e vem descobrir um outro lado de Lagos. O ponto de encontro será junto à Casa Verde.

Acompanhados pela nossa tradutora voluntária e guia local, Helena (da .talks), vamos explorar recantos escondidos, monumentos históricos, histórias locais e alguns dos lugares que tornam Lagos uma cidade única.

A caminhada começa às 18h30 (se quiseres, podes aparecer um pouco mais cedo para conviver) e dura cerca de 2 horas.

O evento baseia-se em donativos livres.

Se te quiseres juntar para jantar ou beber um copo depois do passeio, envia-nos uma mensagem privada. O ponto de encontro final será no Green Room!

Ever walked past Praça Gil Eanes and wondered about its story? Or why the Green House is actually green? And what Lagos has to offer beyond its beautiful beaches?

Join us for a relaxed community walking tour and discover a different side of Lagos. We will meet at the green house.

Together with a local guide, our volunteer translator Helena (.talks), we'll explore hidden corners, historic sights, local stories, and some of the places that make Lagos unique.

Tour starts at 18:30 (feel free to come a little earlier to mingle) and lasts about 2 hours.

This event is donation-based.

Este verão, f**a atento às nossas novas iniciativas comunitárias, onde nos vamos conectar contigo todos os meses através de um evento diferente.

Começamos já no dia 9 de julho com uma caminhada por Lagos, guiada pela nossa incrível voluntária local, a Helena (da .talks). Vem aprender e explorar com a comunidade! (*Por donativo)

Em agosto, o All Stars Outdoor Cinema () vai exibir TED Talks em torno do tema Aventura e receber alguns dos nossos antigos speakers para momentos de conversa e partilha. Deixa-te inspirar. (*Bilhetes brevemente disponíveis na bio)

E em setembro, juntamo-nos à Somar (.pt) para uma ação de limpeza de praia que assinala o Dia Internacional de Limpeza Costeira. Será no dia 20 de setembro, às 10h, na Praia da Luz. Vem fazer parte da mudança!

This Summer, keep an eye out for our new community series, where we’ll connect with you each month through a different event.

We're kicking off on July 9th with a community walking tour through Lagos, led by our wonderful local volunteer Helena (.talks). Come learn and explore with the community! (*Donation-based)

In August, the All Stars Outdoor Cinema () will screen TED Talks on the theme of Adventure and host discussions with some of our previous speakers. Get inspired. (*Tickets soon available in bio)

As for September, we're partnering with Somar (.pt) for a beach clean-up to mark International Coastal Cleanup Day. It will take place on September 20, at 10 am, at Praia da Luz. Come be part of the change!

Happy to introduce one more volunteer who helped us shape this year's TEDx Praça Gil Eanes!

Justyna's path moves across continents and creative forms, and somehow it all connects. Polish-Canadian, raised in Berlin, she worked internationally as a 3D character animator and artist on projects from Disney in the UK to Jurassic World Alive in Canada.

After moving to Portugal, a personal loss brought her back to creating in a different way. She recorded her first album, nine original songs, and returned to portrait painting.

Her work today lives at the intersection of technology and emotion, exploring memory, connection, and the experiences that bring people closer to themselves and each other.

We're glad to have had Justyna with us.

Com muito gosto apresentamos mais uma voluntária que ajudou a moldar o TEDx Praça Gil Eanes deste ano.

O percurso da Justyna atravessa continentes e formas criativas, e de alguma forma tudo se conecta. Polaco-canadiana, cresceu em Berlim e trabalhou internacionalmente como animadora e artista 3D em projetos que vão desde a Disney no Reino Unido ao Jurassic World Alive no Canadá.

Depois de se mudar para Portugal, uma perda pessoal trouxe-a de volta à criação de uma forma diferente. Gravou o primeiro álbum, nove canções originais, e regressou à pintura de retratos.

O seu trabalho hoje vive na intersecção entre tecnologia e emoção, explorando a memória, a ligação e as experiências que aproximam as pessoas de si próprias e umas das outras.

Temos muito gosto em ter tido a Justyna connosco.

And that’s a wrap on TEDxPraça Gil Eanes 2026 - Metamorphosis The beauty of change.🦋✨

Yesterday was nothing short of magical. A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who walked through our doors, tuned in, and shared this space with us.

Together, we witnessed how ideas can transform perspectives, spark change, and connect a community.

This event only works because of the incredible energy you all brought:

🎤 To our phenomenal speakers who bared their souls and shared ideas worth spreading.
💡To our attendees whose curiosity and passion filled the room.
🤝 To our partners for supporting us in bringing the event to life.
💫 To our volunteers, and organising team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this vision a reality.

Every TEDx event takes trust, time, care, and people willing to stand behind the idea before the doors even open.

We’re very grateful to have Algarve Evolution, Algarve STP, NERA, and LocalLagos with us as community partners, and Tantalinha as our communication partner.

Each one has helped give this edition momentum, whether by connecting us to the right people, helping the event travel further, or shaping the materials and presence that carry it beyond the room.

That kind of support stops feeling abstract when the day is this close. You can feel it in what gets built, what gets shared, and in everything that became possible because other people chose to stand behind it, too.

With the event now almost here, we’re very glad to have them with us.
