⚡ Late last year, Elon Musk called bitcoin a currency built on energy. The quote travelled. The mechanism underneath travelled less.

For a decade the charge was that mining wastes power. That same interruptible demand is now what makes it useful to a grid.

🔌 ERCOT pays miners to switch off in seconds. Flared methane and curtailed renewables run the same machines. Most of that electricity can leave as usable heat.

🟠 BlackRock listed its iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF (BITA) on Nasdaq today, one day after the SEC cleared it.

This is not another spot fund. BITA holds $IBIT and writes call options against it, then pays the collected premiums out as monthly income. Bitcoin exposure, with a yield layer on top.

The trade-off is built into the design:

📈 higher volatility means fatter premiums and more income,

📉 a strong rally means capped upside, because the calls sold give away the top.

It targets 15 to 25 per cent annual yield and aims to keep about 70 per cent of bitcoin’s upside, at a 0.65 per cent fee that undercuts every rival in the covered-call category.

The point is not the yield. It is that bitcoin is now mature enough to be packaged for income mandates, advisers and retirees, not just for price exposure.

The top 100 public companies now hold around 1.24 million bitcoin.

💰 Strategy alone holds 845,256 of them. Roughly two thirds of the entire corporate total sits on a single balance sheet.

And it is still buying. 1,550 $BTC added in the first week of June, with bitcoin down about 30 per cent from its October high.

The less obvious signal sits underneath the table.

A significant share of these companies now trade below the value of the bitcoin they hold. Market capitalisation under net asset value.

The premium that funded the entire model has gone.
👉 accumulation has not stopped
👉 the market has stopped paying extra for it

That splits the next phase into two questions:
👉 who keeps buying without a premium to fund it
👉 who turns into a forced seller instead

This is not noise. This is signal.

🛰️ The largest IPO in history prices tomorrow and starts trading Friday. SpaceX, $1.75 trillion, a fixed $135 per share. OpenAI and Anthropic are queuing behind it.

📉 Meanwhile: bitcoin near $61k, gold at a 10-week low, ETF outflows at $3.1bn YTD.

One hypothesis gaining ground: capital is not leaving risk. It is rotating. Liquid assets get sold first, because they can be. Bitcoin trades 24/7 with tight spreads. Locked-up IPO allocations do not.

The other explanation is simpler: 👇
a hawkish Fed repricing everything that pays no yield.

Both can be true at once. Neither says anything about what bitcoin is. Both say a lot about how it is currently used.

🟠 On 8 June, Strategy bought 1,550 bitcoin near $65,300. Its first purchase ever made below its own average cost.

A week earlier it had sold 32 coins to cover a dividend, quietly breaking the „never sell” line it was built on. So this buy was meant to read as conviction restored.

The market barely moved 📊

And that is the part worth reading closely. MSTR now trades at roughly 0.7x the value of the bitcoin it holds. When a company sits below its own treasury, every share it issues to buy more bitcoin dilutes existing holders instead of rewarding them.

The $181m raise behind this purchase is, at today’s discount, dilution rather than accretion.

⚙️ The accumulation flywheel only turns at a premium. Right now there isn’t one.

The signal isn’t the buy. It’s the discount.
