Meet the faces behind Orientation 2023💫

Presenting to you one of the most hardworking member of the Coordinating Committee, Hassan Rafique. Despite having a silent persona, Hassan cracks some of the funniest jokes. Hassan will be that one guy who always acknowledges other people's concerns before his own. Surprisingly, he has one of the biggest social circles within and outside of LUMS.

“Dear Class of 27/28,
Congratulations on making it to LUMS! This university will be your home, refuge, and a nuisance in your time here. While the CP components may scare you, PDC ki daal will be there to remind you that everything will be alright.
Use all the available resources, and always reach out to the stranger you want to befriend, that instructor you'd like to work with, and that guard uncle you'd like to have chai with.
This time will pass in a flash, so make the most of it. Getting here is no small feat so I hope you make the best of it. Here's to the class of 27/28!”

Meet the faces behind Orientation 2023💫

Meet Dua Babar, our in-house ultimate drama queen of the Coordinating Committee! She is somewhat like both Geet and Aditya from Jab We Met. She will cry about her workload but she is your person to get any work done anytime. Despite her being an absolute academic weapon, she will always make time to have ‘tea’ sessions with you.

Congratulations on making it to LUMS. Your arrival will marks an unforgettable chapter in your life where you will embrace a wide array of emotions that will grow you in countless ways

One tip that I want to share is that never let anyone define your worth. You can achieve anything, just believe in yourself, be sincere, loyal, and work hard, and you will see how you draw success. Remember that metric for success is not grades but the lessons learned, the friendships, and the positive impact you have.
Lastly, I just want to say that don’t worry too much. It’s all a part of life’s adventure.”

Introducing Zohair Rashid, the chatterbox of the Coordinating Committee. Originally hailing from Pindi, Zohair (surprisingly enough) does not have the characteristics of a typical Pindi boy. He is actually one of the most wholesome and energetic people on campus and will always be up for spontaneous plans, even at the most ungodly hours.

Introducing you to Zaryab Fatima! She embodies the character ‘Geet’ from ‘Jab We Met’. She carries crazy energy and has the funniest unfiltered comebacks for anyone who messes with her. Despite this persona, she is a softie who will always stand by you in your hard times.

Welcome to LUMS, where your life will unfold like a dhamakay-dar Bollywood blockbuster! Brace yourself for laughter, memories, glamour, drama, and twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. These four years will be a rollercoaster ride, in which your patience and attitude will define who you truly are.

Remember, today's kindness and forgiveness will write the script for tomorrow's support and love, so whenever given the chance, always choose honesty, honesty, and honesty!

Meet the faces behind Orientation 2023💫

Meet Asfand Katchela, our resident part-time politician and self-proclaimed “Harvey Specter” of LUMS. Despite his sophisticated and oftentimes reserved demeanor, you will find Asfand to be a softie at heart. His Spotify playlist ranges from Toxic by Britney Spears to Clash by Diljit Dosanjh which is a true representation of his dynamic personality. To deal with any problem, he’s your go to man or as he likes to say it himself: “When in crisis better call Katchela”.

Meet Maira Inayat, one of the most vibrant personalities you will ever come across in LUMS. Maira’s infectious Faisalabadi humor fills every room she enters with laughter. If you are someone who loves to vibe to classical Punjabi songs, she is your go-to person. Her wholesome personality makes it really easy to get along with her so if you have any problems, she can cater to you in the most caring way.

“Hello to the Batch of 2027/28, Congratulations on this huge milestone! I remember exactly 2 years ago when I was ridden with anxiety and uncertainty while coming to LUMS. I have cried on the F2 benches almost every day as a freshman finding it hard to call this place home. But I did, eventually, because this place offered me comfort and a sense of belonging like no other. Just like me and many others, you will too. You will carve out your own path and find your kind of people on this amazing journey of yours. This post is your gentle reminder to let you know that never be afraid of taking chances and be open to every experience that comes your way. Introducing Hashir Bin Nasir, the “born and bred” Karachite who ended up in Lahore (very ‘Karachi se Lahore’ of him). With his unparalleled work ethic and dedication, you will be surprised at just how fun-loving he really is. Hashir is always down for a spontaneous jam session with his beloved graffitied guitar and will surely blow you away with his exceptional skills! If you’re ever in need of an ear to listen to or a shoulder to cry on, he’s your go-to man.

“Zindagi ke is naye safar mei khush aamdeed. This is going to be a journey, in every sense of the word. There’ll be highs, and lows, there’ll be achievements and failures. Bas chalte rehna. Waqt ke sath sab badal jata hai. Take care of yourself, and make a few friends along the way, all of this will be over sooner than you might think. Introducing our very own, Ahmed Mustafa! While he may look bougie on the outside, he is a pure desi munda from Kasur at heart. He’s also going on an exchange semester to Japan this year so if you have any questions, he’s your go-to guy. Apart from this, he has an eye for aesthetics and his Instagram feed serves as a testament to this. His infectious energy is sure to light up any room that he walks into!

“Hello, Dear Luminites. Welcome to the 4 most transformative years of your life, where you will decide who you want to be for life and with whom you make this journey. These 4 years will be filled with laughter, joy, tears, pain, and apprehension. Whatever you do ensure you stay true to yourself, work towards betterment and have empathy. On behalf of Lahore University of Management Sciences, the Coordinating Committee (CC) welcomes you and your family to the LUMS community. The LUMS orientation, normally referred to as the O-week, is a long standing tradition. Over the course of this five day program, students will get better acquainted with all that LUMS has to offer while making new friends and setting into their new community. Special programs for parents and families, exciting events, and trips outside of LUMS make O-week a transformative experience for everyone and we couldn't be happier to share this tradition with you.
