We aim to encourage the production of original content, recognize Filipino talents in the field of animation, and encourage creative excellence and competitiveness. Since 2007, ACPI has been organizing ANIMAHENASYON, an annual animation festival that showcases Filipino talent in animation. The event is composed of plenary sessions on animation, technical workshop sessions, and an exhibition of companies offering animation and other related creative services.

🎬 Animahenasyon Spotlight!

Meet Danica Jude Sy — a 22-year-old aspiring Filipino animation director and artist from Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte. Her work explores themes of cultural identity and personal growth through animation, giving voice to stories that are both deeply personal and universally resonant.

Her thesis film “Blinding Lights”, which she co-directed, was a grantee of the 1st Cycle of the Student Film Assistance Program by FDCP and earned an Honorable Mention at Gawad Alternatibo 2024. Meanwhile, her short film “Wishes” brought home the Open Category Winner award at Brunei Film Blitz 2023, along with multiple recognitions including an Honorable Mention at Gawad Alternatibo, a Top 20 spot at Animahenasyon, and the Special Jury Prize and DGPI Emerging Filmmaker Award at the Ground Glass Film Festival.

Meet Mark Mendoza — a commercial director known for his strong focus on animation and stylized storytelling. With a keen eye for narrative and art direction, he has built a reputation as a leading director at one of the country’s top production houses, creating branded content for both local and international clients for over a decade.

Driven by a passion for original storytelling, Mark later founded his own development studio, where he has produced award-winning short films. He is currently working on a feature film while continuing to collaborate with fellow artists and storytellers to push the boundaries of Filipino animation and develop original intellectual properties.
