Please, please be extra careful when booking your wedding suppliers. ๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฌ ๐ญ๐จ๐จ ๐ ๐จ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐, ๐ข๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ฌ. Donโt be swayed by low prices, smooth talk, and tempting freebies.
Always verify if your supplier has the proper permits to operateโ๐๐ฌ๐ค ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ฒ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ข๐ซ ๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ฒ๐จ๐ซโ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ, ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง (for Corporations and Partnerships), and ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง. Also, make sure they have a physical office you can visit. While it is common for suppliers and clients to meet in coffee shops or restaurants, I strongly advise insisting on meeting at the supplierโs actual place of business.
Just because a supplier is active on social media, has an impressive website, or participates in bridal fairs does not automatically mean they are a legitimate business. Anyone can look credible online. In fact, many suppliers join bridal fairs without even having a DTI Registration, which is merely the first step for sole proprietors in registering a business name.
However, a DTI Registration alone does not grant a business the license to operateโit simply means the business name is registered. A legitimate business should also have the proper Mayorโs Permit, SEC Registration, and BIR Registration. Many unregistered suppliers continue to operate, so stay vigilant and do your due diligence when choosing your wedding suppliers.
