Numancianos, get ready because the grandest stage of the Mayor Ogie’s Cup Summer Slam Basketball Tournament 2026 officially opens tonight! We are kicksstarting the epic Best-of-3 Championship Series between Barangay Bulwang and Barangay Dongon West with an incredible treat for all basketball fans.

Before our two powerhouse finalist teams collide, the hardcourt will heat up with a special, star-studded Exhibition Match featuring the best of local women's basketball talent! Brought to you by the vision and leadership of our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Ogie M. Enero.

🚨 THE FINALS ARE SET! DONGON WEST COMPLETES AN EPIC COMEBACK TO JOIN BULWANG IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP! 🚨

What an absolute masterpiece of a basketball game! The do-or-die Semi-Final continuation lived up to all the hype, delivering a thrilling rollercoaster of emotions before Barangay Dongon West officially stamped their ticket to the Grand Finals of the Mayor Ogie's Cup Summer Slam Basketball League 2026 (21 Under Category)!

Through the vision of our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Ogie M. Enero, this tournament has showcased the incredible depth of talent, heart, and determination our Numanciano youth possess.

🏀 SEMI-FINAL DO-OR-DIE RECAP: THE TALE OF TWO HALVES
It was anything but an easy victory for Dongon West as Barangay Laguinbanua West came out of the gates absolutely on fire!

The First Half Dominance: Dongon West started at a slow pace, and Laguinbanua West capitalized immediately, dominating the court to build a massive 15-point lead in the 1st quarter. Behind the stellar plays and offensive chemistry of Gomez, Mantac, and Ampongan, Laguinbanua West managed to withstand the pressure and maintain a single-digit lead all the way to the end of the 2nd quarter.

The 3rd Quarter See-Saw: Refusing to back down, Dongon West adjusted their engines in the 3rd quarter. They aggressively chased down the lead, triggering an intense, back-and-forth see-saw battle where the lead changed hands with every possession!

The 4th Quarter Takeover: When the final frame opened, Dongon West's veteran composure took over. The powerhouse trio of Nacionales, Tabal, and Reportoso ignited a huge run, locking down on defense and exploding on offense to ultimately secure a double-digit lead victory, ending Laguinbanua West's heroic run.

A massive salute to Barangay Laguinbanua West for putting up an unforgettable, heart-stopping fight! 🙌

What an absolutely legendary night of basketball! The first day of the Mayor Ogie’s Cup Summer Slam Semi-Finals did not disappoint, delivering pure drama, grit, and history-making plays.

Under the leadership of Municipal Mayor, Hon. Ogie M. Enero, our top four barangays proved exactly why they made it this far under the high-pressure Page Playoff System.

Here is how tonight's blockbuster games went down:

🏀 SEMI-FINALS GAME RESULTS (May 17)
Game 1: Barangay BULWANG (WINNER) vs. Barangay Dongon West

The Outcome: With an explosive performance, Barangay Bulwang secured the victory and officially punched the very first ticket straight to the Grand Finals (Best-of-3 Series)! 🏆

Dongon West drops down, but they still have one final lifeline left.

Game 2: Barangay LAGUINBANUA WEST (WINNER) vs. Barangay Camanci Norte

The Outcome: An instant classic and arguably the game of the tournament! This sudden-death match pushed both teams to their absolute limits, requiring OVERTIME to settle the score after enduring a staggering 11 deadlocks throughout the game.

In the end, Barangay Laguinbanua West survived the thriller to keep their championship dreams alive, while a valiant Barangay Camanci Norte bids farewell to the tournament. Huge respect to Camanci Norte for an incredible run! 🙌

The intense Quarterfinals of the Mayor Ogie’s Cup Summer Slam Basketball Tournament have officially come to a close! Our local athletes left everything on the hardwood, showcasing incredible grit, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Through the vision and unwavering support of our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Ogie M. Enero, this tournament continues to unite the youth and communities of Numancia through the power of sports.

🔥 NEXT STOP: THE SEMI-FINALS (PAGE SYSTEM) 🔥

The road to the championship gets even more thrilling! The Semi-Finals will be adopting the high-stakes Page Playoff System:

The Top Seed Battle: Bulwang (Rank 1) vs. Dongon West (Rank 2). The winner advances straight to the Finals! The loser gets a second chance.

The Knockout Battle: Camanci Norte (Rank 3) vs. Laguinbanua West (Rank 4). A sudden-death match—winner advances, loser is eliminated.
