Young Stars Take Center Stage as PSAA Season 3 Begins June 21
The Philippine Schools Athletic Association (PSAA) Season 3: Rise of Champions is set to tip off on June 21, bringing together some of the country's most promising young student-athletes in a highly competitive basketball tournament.
Multiple schools and universities will compete across three age-group divisions: Under-18 (18U), Under-16 (16U), and Under-14 (14U).

PSAA President Fernando Arimado expressed high expectations for the upcoming season, emphasizing the league's commitment to providing exposure and opportunities for young athletes to showcase their talents and attract the attention of major collegiate programs including the UAAP and NCAA.
"Kasi kung last season natin, Season 2, more on collegiates at juniors iyon. This season, mas bata ang mga players natin—18U, 16U, at 14U. Maybe sa 18U at 16U, maipapakita nila ang galing nila para umangat. Iyon ang layunin ng PSAA, para ma-expose ang mga ganitong edad. Malay mo, may kumuha sa kanila mula sa UAAP, NCAA, o iba pang malalaking liga," Arimado said.
The association's primary goal is to help young athletes pursue their dream of competing on the biggest stages of Philippine basketball, including the UAAP and NCAA.
While the league will not award cash prizes to its champions, winning teams will earn the opportunity to represent the PSAA in international competitions and training camps.
"Meron naman kaming mga international events. Katulad noong nakaraan, nang mag-champion ang PCU sa liga namin, napadala ko sila sa Australia. At least, na-expose sila at nakapaglaro sila doon," Arimado shared.
Last season, the Philippine Christian University (PCU) 18U team represented the association in Australia, where they showcased their talent and emerged as champions of the tournament they joined.
"Napachampion sila doon. Of course, gusto nilang bumalik. Sabi ko, 'Kapag nag-champion ulit...'" Arimado added.
For this season, Arimado revealed that the 18U champions will be given the opportunity to participate in a foreign training camp in New Zealand.
"Itong 18U division, kapag nag-champion sila, maaari silang makapunta sa New Zealand dahil inimbitahan ang PSAA doon. Kung sino ang magiging champion, pupunta sila roon from December 27 to 29," he said.
As the PSAA continues to expand its programs, the association will also set to introduce Volleyball and Game of the Generals, a Filipino-made esports title that is being promoted by the Esports World Federation.
PSAA Season 3: Rise of Champions will officially begin on June 21 at the Makati Coliseum in Makati City.
